Lenovo Sisley examined by TENAA, official specs revealed

The Lenovo Sisley is, let's say, an homage to the iPhone 6 with a nearly identical design. It even has the same thickness - 6.9mm - though as we pointed out yesterday the camera doesn't protrude. There were some rumored specs to go with yesterday's photos but today TENAA's certification leaves little to the imagination. The Sisley measures 146 x 71.7 x 6.9mm and weighs 130g. It's actually taller and wider than the iPhone 6 but also has a 5" AMOLED display with 720p resolution to show for it. Lenovo Sisley (photos by TENAA) The specs are not high end, but the phone does run Android 4.4.4 KitKat on a quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB RAM (probably a MediaTek chipset). There's 16GB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB cards (that may be inaccurate, it sounds too low). The camera on the Lenovo Sisley is listed as 720p capable but it's not clear if that's the front or back camera. There's no still resolution in the TENAA tables either, but according to what we heard yesterday there should be a 13MP main camera and an 8MP selfie snapper. Source (in Chinese) |...

A plethora of Samsung Galaxy are getting Android 4.4.4 soon

Today we got some good news about the Samsung Galaxy owners worldwide. A leaked roadmap spilled the beans on the Samsung Android 4.4.4 KitKat update schedule. As the table reveals the 4.4.4 update has already been completed for the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3 (Exynos) and the Galaxy Note 3 (Snapdragon) models. This means the rollout should begin any moment now. The update is in the final stages of testing for the Galaxy S4 (Exynos), Galaxy S4 (Snapdragon) and Galaxy Note 3 Neo. It should kick off in November. The Android 4.4.4 firmware is in development for another batch of devices and should soon enter the testing trials. Oppo N3 camera detailed: 16MP 1/2.3-inch sensor

The Oppo N3 details keep trickling and the latest piece of news comes from the company's CEO himself. In a Weibo post, Tony Chen says the 16MP sensor of the N3 will have the ample 1/2.3" size, which will result in higher quality images. He also shared a comparison image, which you can see above. The Oppo N3's sensor size is compared to the likes of the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4, which sport 1/2.6" sensors, 28% smaller than the N3's. The HTC One (M8), Apple iPhone 6 both have a 1/3" sensor size, while the original Oppo N1's sensor is 1/3.06". In another leaked detail yesterday, Oppo revealed what the N3 rotary camera looks like. The rest of the Oppo N3 specifications should include a 5.9" 1080p display and the latest Snapdragon 805 chipset with 3GB of RAM. Just like with the original Oppo N1, the camera will be capable of 206-degree rotation and will feature a dual-LED flash. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders kick-off in India

The launch day map for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 proves increasingly inaccurate. It seemed to indicate that the flagship phablet will be available in India on October 10, however Samsung will only be holding an event today to unveil the device. You can watch a livestream, which will start in about an hour. It will take place in Taj Palace, New Delhi at noon local time. Pre-orders are also start today and the phone will ship out on October 17. That matches the delayed date for the UK launch. Xiaomi adds another former Google executive to its team

The Chinese hardware manufacturer Xiaomi added another former Google executive to its team. Jai Mani was a strategy and analytics associate for Google Play during his days at the search giant. The new hire will lead Xiaomi's product team in India. According to Hugo Barra, who has worked with Mr. Mani in Google, he will be the connection between Xiaomi's rapidly expanding user base in the country and the company's engineering team in Beijing. Xiaomi will soon set up an engineering team in India as well. Xiaomi's latest personnel move is yet another indication that the company is serious about expanding internationally.
