Lollipop update starts rolling out to select Moto X first gen users


Motorola has been diligent in updating its recent devices to Lollipop soon after Google released it. In fact, some devices, such as the second generation Moto X and Moto G, got the update even before some of the Nexus devices. However, while almost all the other Motorola devices are now running on Lollipop, the first generation Moto X is still on KitKat. Whatever the reason for that might be, the company is now finally making amends. As part of a soak test, some of the members of Motorola's support forums are now receiving the Lollipop update on their Moto X. This is the 5.0.2 update, and Motorola has no current plans for the 5.1 update for the Moto X. This being a soak test will be limited to a select few users, who will be, in a way, beta testing it. Xiaomi reportedly working on its own smartwatch


It looks like Xiaomi is planning to take on Apple in a new product category. According to a report from Chinese technology news website 36Krypton, the startup - which is also known as China's Apple - is working on its first smartwatch. As per the report, the Xiaomi smartwatch will sport a round dial and feature a brushed metal design. It is also said to offer pulse wave velocity identification, which is a measure of arterial stiffness, or the rate at which pressure waves move down the vessel. Although details are scarce, given that it's a Xiaomi product, it is expected to have an affordable price-tag. Upcoming LG G4 will reportedly feature a 5.6" display


The yet to be revealed LG G4 will reportedly feature a 5.6" display. The successor of LG G3 is expected to make its official debut in April. The report comes from the same source which leaked the early press renders of the upcoming smartphone. There is no word of the resolution of the screen however - it could be a 2K or a 3K unit. Rumored specs of LG G4 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 16MP main camera, Android 5.0 Lollipop, and even a fingerprint sensor. Microsoft announced the new Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL at the recent MWC 2015. Both Windows Phone devices are now up for preorder at the Microsoft UK website. The Lumia 640 is listed at £170, while the Lumia 640 XL is priced at £219. And the listing for both phones state the available from 28 April onwards. Microsoft Lumia 640 XL was recently put for preorder in Germany. The Lumia 640 offers a 5" HD LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Google fixed Android 5.1 memory leak, no timeline for update


Google's Android team is constantly working on tweaking the OS. When Android 5.0.1 Lollipop was initially seeded out to devices, many users jumped with joy. However, few could notice some issues. The search giant's Android Open Source Code issue tracker forums heated with memory leak reports from the early Lollipop builds.
