Top 10 trending phones of week 10

The host of new announcements this week shook up the order of our trending chart. While none of the new additions was popular enough to dethrone the Redmi Note 10 lineup from last week, two of the new ROG Phone 5 series members made the top 10, while the Find X3 Pro also made the cut in seventh. The Xiaomi Mi 10S has also gained plenty of attention and is now sitting in fourth, while the rumored Huawei P50 sits in sixth, making this one of the most diverse edition of the chart in recent times. The Redmi Note 10 members take first second and fifth as the vanilla Asus ROG Phone 5...

Flashback: Nokia's other taco phones and its surprise connection with Jay-Z

In a previous Flashback we lamented that the Nokia N-Gage was ahead of its time and that all of its potential went unfulfilled. It is now remembered only as a failure, which we think is a bit harsh. But did you know that there was another phone with this design? At least people remember the N-Gage (for better or for worse), but how many of you know that the Nokia 3300 existed? Well, there’s probably a good reason for that – it just wasn’t a very good phone. But our story doesn’t start here. It starts in 2001 with the Nokia 5510. It’s hard to mistake this phone for anything else, the...

Weekly poll: is the Oppo Find X3 Pro your flagship of choice?

Oppo had a busy week, announcing four Find X3 models. We want to focus on the Oppo Find X3 Pro for this poll as it’s the most interesting phone of the three, plus it will be available this month (while the X3 Neo and X3 Lite are coming in April, the vanilla X3 is heading only to China for now). Oppo Find X3 Pro in Gloss Black and Blue Let us start by saying that this phone is quite different from its predecessor in some respects and quite similar in others. One omission that will raise eyebrows is that the 5x periscope lens is gone, instead the new phone has a standard 2x lens...

Weekly poll results: the Redmi Note 10 Pro (Max) is the clear fan favorite from the family

Despite Xiaomi’s confusing naming scheme last week’s poll has a clear result – the Redmi Note 10 Pro (Max) is the only phone in the series worth having. The global variant has a massive lead over the other models, actually, all other Note 10 phones fall under the negative option. There is a modicum of interest in the Redmi Note 10 5G, but not enough to clear the "none of the above" bar. As the rollout of next-generation networks continues worldwide, the demand for affordable 5G phones should go up. So, the Note 10 5G will not come out swinging, but it could find an audience later...

Our Redmi 9T video review is up

The Redmi 9T is the latest addition in the line of budget-friendly devices from Xiaomi. Now that our written review out the way we bring your attention to the video breakdown to find out if its worth considering. Right off the bat, the 9T is nearly identical to another recent budget offering – the Poco M3. The specs are similar across the board though you get a more toned-down design with the Redmi 9T and a slightly higher asking price of €140 compared to €120 on the Poco M3. You do get an extra 8MP ultrawide cam on the 9T as well as splash-proof protection (not IP rated though)....
