Xiaomi always offered great bang for the buck so it was exciting to see hints of the Redmi Note 5, which combines two current flagship trends - 18:9 bezel-less screen and dual cameras. Better yet, rumors hinted at a Snapdragon 660 chipset - a "lite" version of the flagship 835 SoC. A Geekbench 4 result potentially sours the inflow of rumors - it lists a Qualcomm MSM8952 chipset, aka Snapdragon 617. Well, eight Cortex-A53 cores at a low clock speed are no match for eight Kryo cores. Not to mention the aging GPU... There's hope, however, it seems that Geekbench messed up the chipset model...
