Huawei Watch Fit 3 looks just like an Apple Watch

A lot of people will consider any non-round smartwatch inspired by the Apple Watch, regardless of how close the design actually is aside from the rectangular-ish shape. And even if something is inspired by something else, it's still pretty easy to distinguish between the inspiration and the "inspired by". Huawei, however, is in a different realm with the upcoming Watch Fit 3, if the renders of the device that leaked today turn out to be accurate. It would be very hard for most people to tell this one apart from an Apple Watch from afar - and even up close, we'd wager. Huawei Watch Fit 3...

Blackview Hero 10 will be the world's cheapest foldable when it launches next month

The nubia Flip was announced in February as the world's cheapest foldable smartphone, as it starts at just $499. It looks like its reign will be very short-lived, however, for Blackview is set to release the Hero 10 in May, and this one will cost just €399, which at the current exchange rate translates into $425. Of course pricing might differ in various regions, but it seems pretty clear that the Blackview Hero 10 will indeed be cheaper than the nubia Flip, and it's also a flip-style foldable. So it looks like we're finally reaching a place where affordable foldables are more than just a...

$99.99 Umidigi G9 5G has a 50 MP main camera, 5,000 mAh battery, and 128GB of storage

There are good smartphones for the price, there are great smartphones for the price, and then there's the newly unveiled Umidigi G9 5G. This was just presented in Hong Kong at the 2024 Global Sources Mobile Electronics show, and it has an insane price: just $99.99. That's incredibly cheap, but the specs are actually pretty good. So let's go through them. Unsurprisingly to hit that price point, the G9 5G uses a Unisoc chipset, specifically the T765. This comes with an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz. Umidigi...

Google Pixel 9 Pro live hands-on images leak

Google is rumored to launch at least three smartphones in October at its annual hardware unveiling event - the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Recently we heard that the Pixel Fold 2 has been renamed to Pixel 9 Pro Fold and might join these. The Pixel 9 Pro has now leaked in hands-on live images, one of which shows it next to an iPhone 15 Pro Max. If you're confused about the size difference, note that the Pixel 9 Pro XL is said to be the successor of the Pixel 8 Pro in size, while the Pixel 9 Pro should have similar dimensions to the vanilla Pixel 9, just with added Pro...

12.9-inch iPad Air to have Mini LED display

The next generation iPad Air has long been rumored to come in two sizes, emulating the iPad Pro line for the first time. And while the next iPad Pro will switch to OLED for its screen technology, it looks like the upcoming larger iPad Air will use the Mini LED tech that is in the current iPad Pro generation. This information comes from Display Supply Chain Consultants' Ross Young, generally a reliable source for this kind of stuff. The move to Mini LED for the 12.9" iPad Air would give it lower power consumption, better brightness for HDR content and deeper blacks compared to the IPS LCD...

Samsung Galaxy A35 is now available in the US for $399.99

Samsung's Galaxy A35 and A55 became official last month, and Samsung decided not to bring the A55 to the US, despite the fact that its predecessors have been available in the States. So that leaves the A35 out of the two, and it's now available in the US, at Samsung's own online store, as well as major carriers and retailers such as Amazon. You'll need to pay $399.99 for one, and you can pick from Awesome Navy and Awesome Lilac in terms of colorways. First Snapdragon X Elite laptop leaks - slender, fanless Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14.5"

Thin and fanless – these are the key takeaways from the images of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14 2024 Snapdragon Edition. This laptop will be powered by the Snapdragon X Elite, as the name suggests. Okay, we don’t actually know that it will be fanless as the leaked images (posted by X user WalkingCat) came with no specs attached. But they do offer a good look from all sides and we don’t see any vents. Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14 2024 Snapdragon Edition All we know is that it will have a 14.5” display, just like the other Yoga Slip 7 14. Battery capacity and endurance are unknown, but...

Moto E14 is coming with 5,000 mAh battery

The Moto E13 got official in January 2023, and went on sale the month after, so on a yearly release schedule we're already way overdue a successor. And it seems like Motorola is actually working on the Moto E14, as this model has now started the necessary certifications dance ahead of its announcement. The Moto E14 was spotted in the TDRA database in the UAE. That listing confirms its name and its model number - XT2421-14. At the same time, a TUV Rheinland certification reveals that the phone will have a battery with a rated capacity of 4,880 mAh. Moto E13 from 2023 These are...

Redmi Pad Pro is headed to India, Latin America, and other global markets

The Redmi Pad Pro was unveiled for the Chinese market last week alongside the Redmi Turbo 3 smartphone, and if you've been wondering whether the tablet would make a global debut later on, the answer seems to be a resounding yes - with 5G support in some markets, even. The Redmi Pad Pro 5G has been spotted in the Google Play Console database, with the model number 24074RPD2I which tells us it's headed to India (the "I" at the end is for India). But wait, there's more! The Google Play Console also lists the 2405CRPFDL model number, which corresponds to the variant for Latin America, and...

Sony Xperia 1 VI launch event rumored to take place on May 17

Sony announced the Xperia 1 V on May 11 last year, and it seems like the Japanese company is planning to stick to almost exactly the same timeline in 2024. According to a leaked poster from Weibo, Sony will be holding an Xperia launch event on May 17. The poster itself doesn't say which phone(s) will become official on that date, but it's pretty easy to assume that one (or the only one) will be the Xperia 1 VI, which has been leaking quite a bit lately. The next Xperia flagship is expected to give up on the 4K screen and the 21:9 tall screen aspect ratio, going with a more industry...

Google Pixel 8a leaks in new, clearer renders

Another day, another Google Pixel 8a leak - this phone simply doesn't seem to want to stop leaking ahead of the expected official unveiling on May 14 during Google's annual I/O developer conference. We've recently seen the Pixel 8a in all colors, but those renders weren't the highest quality. Fret not, however, for today's leak brings us higher quality renders of the upcoming device, once again in all four colorways. WhatsApp launches chat filters

Today WhatsApp has announced the launch of a new feature: chat filters. These will filter your chat list according to different criteria. There are three of these filters, and they appear above the list of chats for easy one-tap access. Their names are very self-explanatory: All, Unread, Groups. So, obviously, tapping on All will show you all of your chats. If you tap Unread, you'll only see those where you have unread messages (whether you haven't opened a chat since new messages came in or those you have marked as unread), and if you tap on Groups you will only see your group...

Japan is also targeting Apple for antitrust practices

After the European Commission forced Apple to open up iOS for third-party app stores in the EU, it seems like other countries are investigating Apple over antitrust and monopolistic practices. Most recently, news broke that Japan is looking to significantly increase fines for big corporations that engage in monopolistic practices. The current law in Japan suggests a penalty of 6% of sales, but policy makers are looking to increase that to 20%. A subsequent future failure to comply with the law will result in a fine of 30% of sales. Japan signaled a coming change back in December 2023...

Oppo A60 surfaces in the Google Play Console, has its specs revealed

Oppo's long-running A series of mid-range smartphones is soon due to receive a new member - the Oppo A60. The naming implies it will be the successor to the A59, launched back in December of last year. However, there's a twist - the A59 has 5G support, while the A60 doesn't, which means it will more likely act as the successor to the A58 4G from July 2023. The A60 has been spotted in the Google Play Console, and as usual that listing reveals some if its specs, including the most important one - it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 680 SoC, which is not 5G capable. The A58 4G went...

nubia Flip unboxing

This just in - the nubia Flip 5G, a strong contender for the most affordable flip foldable in the world (although Tecno's Phantom V Flip could have a say in that). nubia's Flip starts at $499 for the 8/256GB model and goes up to $699 for the all-out 12/512GB one. The retail package is solid too with a two-piece case with the nubia logo on it, a 33W charger, and a USB cable. Far more expensive foldables have a lot less to work with out of the box. Say goodbye to the Google Pixel Fold 2 and hello to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold

Google might be looking to reset people's perceptions of its foldable smartphone efforts. Following up the Pixel Fold from last year should be the Pixel Fold 2, but a new report today claims it's been renamed and will actually be sold as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Furthermore, as we already heard once before, this device could make its debut at Google's annual hardware unveiling event this October, and not at Google I/O in May like its predecessor. Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro details leak

Every fall (or autumn, depending on which English you prefer), Xiaomi launches a couple of new "T" models - high-end devices that are not quite the top of the line, but close. Last year we had the 13T and 13T Pro, and so this year the 14T and 14T Pro should follow. Today a new leak has emerged giving us some details about these two upcoming devices. Let's start with the Pro. This one is said to be based on the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra for the Chinese market. IDC: Samsung back as top smartphone vendor, market up 7.8%

IDC's report on the global smartphone market in Q1 of 2024 revaled that Samsung regained the top spot from Apple, but it was more due to Apple's lower sales than Samsung's higher ones. Samsung shipped 60.1 million total smartphones in Q1, that's 0.7% less than the same quarter of 2023 at 60.5 million. However, Apple's 50.1 million Q1 of 2024 is nearly 10% down, compared to the same time last year. The global market recorded its third consecutive positive quarter with 289.4 million units shipped - up 7.8% year-over-year. Xiaomi is back in form with a 33.8% increase in sales YoY,...

Samsung Galaxy C55 runs Geekbench, powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1

It has been a few months since we first started seeing rumors about a Samsung Galaxy C55 and the phone still isn’t official. So the leaks continue. The C55 appeared in the Geekbench database, showing that it is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. And if you’ve been following Samsung’s launches recently, you will know that the Galaxy M55 also uses that chip. In the C55, it will be configured with 8GB of RAM as seen in the Geekbench scorecard and the Google Play Console (the M55 also has a 12GB variant). The phone was running Android 14, likely with One UI 6.1 on top. Samsung Galaxy...

Samsung Galaxy A55 vs. Galaxy S23 FE (Exynos)

The Samsung Galaxy A55 vs. Galaxy S23 FE is quite an unlikely duo for one of our dedicated versus articles, but Samsung's pricing strategy led us here. After launching this year's popular Galaxy A55 at around €450 (now just a little over €400), the company has positioned it too close to its budget flagship, the Galaxy S23 FE. But those devices are not created equal by any means. The Galaxy S23 FE is still the more expensive of the two (now selling for around €500), but it also delivers a flagship-like experience, while the A55 tries to strike a good balance between hardware and cost. They...

Deals: Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 prices fall

The 256GB model is down to €460 and now getting the 128GB one actually makes sense as its price is down to €400. The Galaxy A55 has a microSD slot, so it’s easy to add more storage if you need it. The A55 has a premium build, great battery life and the Samsung/AMD chipset is both fast and stable under sustained load. Samsung...

Weekly poll: is the Samsung Galaxy M55 the right mid-ranger for you?

The Galaxy M55 and M15 were announced a couple of weeks ago for the Brazilian market, this week the pair launched in India. We are more interested in the M55 mid-ranger – its odd mix of specs might make it the perfect phone for you. Or does it? The Samsung Galaxy M55 is very different from the M54 that came before it and the A55 that you might consider as an alternative. Let’s start with the pricing first. The M55 has a base price of BRL 3,000 for an 8/256GB unit, in India the base is 8/128GB for ₹27,000. Additionally, there is an 8/256GB variant for ₹30,000 and 12/256GB for ₹33,000. This...

The OnePlus Nord CE4 launched in India last week and the company says that it is “selling like hotcakes”. It scored the best first day of sales in the ₹20-25K segment that Amazon India has seen so far this year. However, things could have been better. Last week’s poll suggests that there are plenty of alternatives in the segment and that they are strongly preferable to the CE4. Even if the price was to come down (which is the reason 7% of voters are passing on the Nord), that still leaves only 25% positive vote. The number of people leaning towards alternative models is nearly...
