The vanilla P30 is expected to have a similarly-sized 6.1" screen (also 1080p+). And since we've seen cases for the lite model, we know it will have a teardrop notch. Huawei P30 lite case renders Anyway, the P30 lite will pack a 3,240mAh battery (a small upgrade over the P20 lite) and it should feature fast charging at 18W (based on a 3C certification). Testing Oppo's 10x optical zoom camera

Oppo announced that it will launch a phone with its new 10x zoom triple camera module in Q2 this year. For now, they let us play with a prototype unit to test out the camera. Before we go on, we should emphasize that both the hardware and software are not in a finished state. The prototype was put in a case to mask its design as that wasn't the focus of this presentation. The triple camera on the back, that's what matters. Oppo said that this is what the camera module will look like and its placement will be the same. The design of the rest of the phone will be unveiled at a later...

Asus Zenfone 6 to be announced on May 14

No invitations, no official teasers - just an ad on the pages of a magazine. That's how Asus decided to inform us that the Zenfone 6 is coming on May 14. The event will be held in Valencia, Spain. The ad can be found inside the magazine that comes with the press passes for MWC 2019 in Barcelona happening right now although, not everyone received one. Anyway, the teaser is pretty vague, but it's probably safe to say that the handset won't have a notch and particularly slim bezels. Perhaps we are looking at yet another slider phone or a periscope-like selfie camera? Either way, we...

Oppo's upcoming flagship to feature Snapdragon 855 and 5G connectivity

Along with the 10x optical zoom, the 5G was the other main topic of Oppo's event. No new phones were unveiled, but the company still had some exciting news about its future products. And surprisingly enough, Qualcomm's president, Cristiano R. Amon announced that Oppo's next flagship phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset and will be 5G-capable. Oppo assembled a 5G research team back in 2015 and is almost ready to finally deliver the first consumer-ready 5G device. The handset will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset and will most likely be the very same device...

Oppo with 10x zoom camera, 48MP main camera coming in Q2 this year

Oppo will launch a phone with its new 10x zoom camera in the second quarter of this year (so, between April and June). Before we dive into how this much optical zoom is possible, we should explain what "10x" means. The camera assembly has three camera modules, starting with a 16mm ultra-wide camera (120°). The second camera module has a 48MP sensor and we suspect it's around 28mm. Finally, the telephoto lens has 160mm focal length (in 35mm. equivalent), thus it zooms in 10 times. Here's what that looks like: 16mm (120°) ultra-wide angle camera • 10x zoom camera Note that not...

Oppo T1 leak is fake, company's Vice President confirms

Several hours ago, an interesting leak appeared in the wild suggesting that Oppo is working on a new flagship phone that may replace the Oppo R19 this year. However, the Vice President of Oppo, Shen Yiren Brian, was nice to disregard the report on Weibo officially. Yep, the leak sounded too good to be true and it's probably because it isn't. Archos Diamond announced with a pop-up selfie cam and UD fingerprint reader

Archos went all in the last few days with a slew of new phones, but the Archos Diamond appears to be the most interesting of the bunch. And don't confuse it with last year's Diamond Omega. The 2019 Diamond is a totally different device and doesn't success the Omega from last year. This one's a mid-range device with high-end features. Right off the bat, we can see that the Archos Diamond has a full-screen, notch-less display because the front-facing camera is hidden in a motorized pop-up unit. The display itself is 6.39-inch AMOLED, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio....

File this one under "maybe" - European prices for the new Nokia phones have leaked ahead of Sunday's announcement. And they start with a €600 price tag for the Nokia 9 PureView. Sure, it has Snapdragon 845 rather than the new 855, but it will be the first ever phone with five cameras on the back. For comparison, the Nokia 8 Sirocco was €750 at launch and it didn't have the latest chipset either. So, we'll believe the €600 price when we hear it straight from Juho's mouth. DxOMark: Samsung Galaxy S10+ camera is as good as the Mate 20 Pro's

Sony Xperia XZ3 drops to €499 in Germany ahead of the XZ4's launch

Sony is going to announce the Xperia XZ4 (or whatever it will end up being called) at MWC next Monday. As such, it's not really very surprising to see its predecessor, the XZ3 launched in the second half of last year, getting a price cut. And that's exactly what's happened over in Germany, where well known electronics retailer Saturn is now asking only €499 for a brand new Xperia XZ3, contract-free. You'll probably be hard pressed to remember, but before Samsung's onslaught of announcements today, Xiaomi also unveiled the Mi 9. This phone also has a transparent special edition, that for now will only be available in China. We already knew it would boast 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, as well as a back design that shows some components under the glass - although these aren't the real ones, mind you, that would have required an internal redesign. The look is inspired by Alita Battle Angel, apparently, but there's another difference between this version and a vanilla Mi...
