LeEco Le Pro 3 hands-on

LeEco was one of the first devices to feature a Snapdragon 821 CPU, an incremental update over Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset. It was on its way to being the first, but Asus' Zenphone 3 Deluxe beat the Ecophone to the punch10:45 . Anyway, the Le Pro 3 is the company's flagship device and it's one of two devices that the Chinese manufacturer is bringing over to the US market alongside the Le S3, a mid-range version of the Le Pro 3. The company has been working really hard to get its TVs, smartphones, and eventually a ‘Super Bike', (yeah, like a bicycle) and the ambitious company even has...

Lumia 950 XL now $299 at the Microsoft store

Microsoft has slashed the price of its flagship smartphone offering by a massive $200 and the Lumia 950 XL now costs a modest (for its top-shelf status) $299. The Lumia 950 (non-XL) goes for $249, $150 off, but is out of stock. You could splurge and get an HP Elite x3 - that one rocks the newer Snapdragon 820 chipset, and not the troubled 810 in the 950XL. HP's smartphone is also discounted, but at $649, it's not as great a deal as the Lumia. Then again, the price includes the Desk Dock, which can make the Elite X3 sort of a desktop PC, Continuum and all. The offers are valid...

Vine lives on as Vine Camera

Twitter seemingly pulled the plug on Vine back in October, then rumor had it the company was in talks to sell the service. Well, no, and no, apparently. In a blog post Twitter has announced that come January it will be transforming Vine into Vine Camera. This new app will allow you to record 6-second clips and share them on Twitter, or just save them on your phone for later viewing. Meanwhile, following an update of the current app, you can now download all your existing vines. You can also do so from the vine.co website, where everything is otherwise business as usual. LG partners up with Apple, Google, and Microsoft to develop foldable display panels

We're slowly but steadily heading towards foldable smartphones and Samsung might be the pioneer in the field. It won't be alone, though, that's for sure, as LG Display is developing foldable OLED panels itself, with some heavyweight device manufacturers joining its team. A report out of South Korea states that LG's Display subsidiary has partnered up with Apple, Google, and Microsoft for the task of creating foldable display panels. The company's own smartphone division is also on board. It's not the first time we're hearing about LG's endeavors in the foldable display space....

Samsung's investigation of the Note7 debacle complete, findings report sent out to labs

We all know the sad story of the exploding Samsung Galaxy Note7 that lived a very short life and got recalled and discontinued due to safety concerns. Initially, Samsung had blamed a battery supplier for the issue, but as it later turned out that wasn't the case and the company struggled to find the exact cause. Samsung committed to investigating and revealing the cause of the issue by the end of the year, and it seems that the Korean maker is set to make good on that promise. The internal investigation is apparently complete and Samsung has sent the findings report to the Korea...

Samsung Galaxy S8 to come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor

In today's episode number 'who's still counting' of the Galaxy S8 rumor saga, it is suggested that a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor will make it to the next-gen Samsung flagship.
