Google patent may let you "heart" things with Glass

If there is anything that Google Glass needs, it is a way to +1 things in real life. At least, that seems to be the aim of a new patent that was granted to Google this past week. Although to be fair, the patent does seem to be designed more for tweens and Japanese people than for full scale adults, because we can't really imagine "hearting" something in real life...

Android 4.4 October 21st clues hit a dead end

First, the rumors contended that October 15th was the date that we would see the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 being released. Then there was a fairly thinly connected rumor that the date will actually be October 28th (which it very well may be). But, there was another theory that the KitKat clues may have been pointing towards Monday October 21st, but that theory has hit a dead end...

Windows RT 8.1 pulled from Windows Store due to undisclosed issues

While the general consensus for the Windows 8.1 update has been positive (except for odd issues of the system not understanding when it is on a non-touchscreen device and leaving tutorials permanently on-screen), but that isn't the case for Windows RT users. Nexus 5 won't have a 3000 mAh battery version, claim insiders, just 16 GB and 32 GB ones

Microsoft Remote Desktop app comes to iOS and Android

Recently, we brought you the information that Microsoft is planning to launch an app for Android and iOS devices that will let the users remotely control their Windows machines. Today, Microsoft went ahead and launched the app for Android and iOS. A lot of third-party applications were available for the same and now Microsoft has pushed out an official app to smoothen things out. Microsoft has been using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) for years now across its series of Windows desktops and servers to connect to a PC. The latest Android and iOS app are no different and use the same RDP method to connect to a remote Windows machine in which Remote Desktop option has been turned on. One of the limitations of using the remote desktop application has been that controlling the entire desktop from a small screen was tough and that problem continues to persist even in the official app. But using the Metro mode on the small screens is considerably better than the desktop mode. The app makes sense because both Android and iOS versions support tablets and hence using Remote Desktop can be much better in a bigger display. Another limitation of the app is that there ...
