Samsung Galaxy S25 in for review

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is easily the go-to compact Android phone to get. Yes, you can find small phones with better camera systems - Xiaomi's 15 and vivo's X200 Pro mini come to mind - but those aren't as readily available and we'd argue that they won't be to everyone's liking. After years of dominating the smartphone market, Samsung feels comfortable to users, an advantage it shares only with the iPhone, which will make the Galaxy S25 an easy choice for the person looking for a new compact Android flagship. There are no surprises in the retail package. The Galaxy S25 ships with a...

Samsung's Exynos 2500 chip to debut in the second half of 2025

With the Samsung Galaxy S25 series out and about without any trace of Exynos 2500, some were quick to assume that we won't be getting an Exynos-powered Samsung flagship this year. However, a confirmation that the company is working on the chipset comes from an unlikely place - Samsung's earnings report. In an earnings call aimed at investors, the Samsung System LSI department shared some info regarding the Exynos 2500. The report says the Korean tech giant is working on refining the flagship SoC and wants to "secure design wins for mobile models scheduled for release in H2...

iQOO Z10x gets certified on its way to launch

The iQOO Z10x was first mentioned in a leak at the beginning of this year, which told us it would be one of four members of the Z10 family, alongside the Z10, Z10 Turbo, and Z10 Turbo Pro. Now the Z10x is one step closer to its release, having been certified for sale in India by BIS. So, naturally, it will launch in India as the successor to the Z9x from April 2024. The Z10x has the model number I2404 and that's everything we know about it so far, unfortunately. We do however know that the Z10 Turbo and Z10 Turbo Pro will sport the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon...

Honor Pad X9a is on the way, certification reveals

Honor is working on a successor to the low-end Pad X8a which it launched back in August. This will unsurprisingly be the Honor Pad X9a, and it will be offered in the UAE as it's just been certified for sale over there by TDRA. Of course, the device is likely to be available in many more international markets. TDRA also certified the upcoming Honor Pad V9 recently. The X9a that passed through the TDRA's process was Wi-Fi-only and had the model number ELN2-W29. Unfortunately, there are no spec details revealed by the certification. Still, you shouldn't expect this to be a high-end...

Google Photos adds a very useful feature

Google Photos has now added what we consider to be a very useful feature, albeit it's only available on Android. It's the ability to quickly mirror your photos. You just need to tap the Edit icon on any image, then select Crop, and tap the flip icon. Then all you need to do is tap Save and it's done. Do note that this is only available for photos. This is most useful for selfies, which most phones automatically mirror. That's fine sometimes, but other times you might want to have an accurate representation of what you saw in the viewfinder. Some camera apps do have both...

Nothing is launching something on March 4, the company recently announced. Well, two somethings if we go by today's leaks: the Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. The Plus is gone after just one generation, it seems. The Nothing Phone (3a) is purportedly pictured below in a heavy-duty case that's meant to protect its design from prying eyes. Spotify paid out $10 billion to the music industry for 2024

Spotify has reported that in 2024 it paid $10 billion to the music industry – a new record. It should be noted that this money didn’t all go to artists, various partners such as publishers are also in the mix. The streaming service says that right now over 10,000 artists make over $100,000 each per year on Spotify. You can see a more detailed breakdown here. Some are making big bucks – 1,250 artists made over $1 million and 60 made over $10 million in a year from just Spotify. Nothing Phone (3a) rumored to have a larger 6.8" screen and a 50MP telephoto camera

Nothing is expected to launch its first proper flagship this year, the Nothing Phone (3), along with two mid-range models: (3a) and (3a) Plus. It’s not clear which of these three – perhaps all of them – will be unveiled at the March 4 event that Nothing has planned. But now we have a slightly better idea of what one of them will be like. The Nothing Phone (3a) has previously been reported as a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 device. It’s notable that this a-phone will be using a Qualcomm chip instead of a MediaTek one like the (2a) (which had a Dimensity 7200 Pro). Leakster Gadget Bits adds that the...

Google Pixel 9a will be more expensive than its predecessor in one version

Google's Pixel 9a should arrive in mid-March, and ahead of that we now have a leak that gives us detailed pricing for both versions of the device. There is, as the saying goes, some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the good. The entry-level model with 128GB of storage will cost $499, just like the Pixel 8a did last year. And now the bad news. The 256GB version will be $599, which is $40 more expensive than what the Pixel 8a's 256GB variant launched at. The new pricing structure is in line with what Google started doing with the launch of the Pixel 9 family in August,...

Apple is working on a visionOS version for smart glasses

Apple's Vision Pro headset has been a flop, according to the latest report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. One reason is its price, unsurprisingly, the other one being "its cumbersome design". So Apple is now looking at the future and the next big thing, and apparently smart glasses are it. Thus, the company is said to be currently working on a version of visionOS that's meant for smart glasses. It makes sense to use the same OS that powers the Vision Pro, but the bad news is that Apple smart glasses are apparently still three years away, or even more. Apple allegedly wanted to...

Its memory is said to "help it personalize future responses so they're more useful and relevant to you". You can tell it to remember things about you (what you like to do, for example), and it also picks up on important details based on context. Say you ask for breakfast suggestions, and it gives you something with...

WhatsApp for iPhone could soon get multi-account support

WhatsApp rolled out multi-account support for Android users in October 2023, allowing people to simultaneously use two different WhatsApp accounts on the same smartphone, eliminating the need to use the app clone feature or rely on the WhatsApp Business app trick. This feature is unavailable for iPhone users, but that should change soon. The folks at WABetaInfo report that WhatsApp is testing multi-account support for iPhone, which should allow iPhone users to use WhatsApp on their phones with two different numbers at the same time. Samsung Galaxy S25 series arrives, Week 4 in review

It was officially Samsung week in the past seven days and it culminated with Samsung's Unpacked January 2025 event, which saw the unveiling of the Galaxy S25 models and a tease of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra brought a new rounder design, added a 50MP ultrawide to its camera system, a Snapdragon 8 Elite, and a next-gen Gorilla Armor 2 display that's even more durable, yet still anti-reflective. Not the most inspired yet still not the worst update in the world. We can't say the same of the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, which are mostly the same as their predecessors,...

Samsung hints that an optical blood glucose sensor might be closer than we think

Non-invasive blood glucose measurement is one of the so-called “holy grails” of modern health tracking. Samsung just recently held the Galaxy Tech Forum in San Jose, California. Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 get TUV Rheinland certification, hinting at imminent release

It is hardly a surprise that Samsung is working on a new generation of Galaxy A phones. As far as we know, the Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 will be unveiled sometime in the middle of March.
