Our Poco F6 video review is out

Poco unveiled the F6 and F6 Pro last week, and the two devices are already on sale. Having looked at the flagship (for Poco at least) F6 Pro in both written and video form, it's now time to turn our attention to the 'vanilla' F6 that is anything but 'vanilla' in reality. It has a lot of specs for the money, and even beats the Pro in some areas like the dust protection and Gorilla Glass version. Plus, it's using the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, which is an almost-flagship chipset - or at least that's what Qualcomm and Poco want us to think. So this is definitely a very intriguing device,...

Reuters: TikTok is splitting its algorithm code to appease the US

TikTok is preparing a second version of its algorithm code for its 170 million users in the United States, reports Reuters. According to multiple sources who spoke to the agency, the work on splitting the code began late last year, predating the Congress-approved bill that wants ByteDance to sell its business in the United States or be banned from the country. The social media owner initially declined to comment, but later, a statement was posted on X, saying the story was “misleading and factually inaccurate” without providing further info on what exactly is inaccurate. The report...

OnePlus Nord 4 rumored to launch in second half of July

While OnePlus has launched the Nord CE4 back in April, the Nord 4 still hasn't been made official. According to a new rumor on the matter, that's set to change in the near future. Specifically, at some point during the third week of July - so between July 15 and July 21. Assuming this rumor pans out, this means the Nord 4 will be announced almost exactly one year after its predecessor, the Nord 3. OnePlus Ace 3V The Nord 4 is expected to be a rebranded Ace 3V, which debuted in China in March. Thus, it should be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, the best performing...

Google Pixel 8a vs. Pixel 8

Google has the habit of dropping an 'a' model some time later than the regular flagship duo and such is the case now with the Pixel 8a. Sure, if you already have the Pixel 8, you don't need to be contemplating much around this time, but if you're in the market for a new Pixel, things get more complicated. So we figured we'd put together a summary of how the 8a is similar to its more esteemed stablemate and how the two differ, possibly helping you decide for yourself. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 leaks yet again in full frontal image

Just a few hours ago an image showing a part of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6's back leaked, following another leak yesterday which showed us the top side of its front. Now a new image has been outed and this one shows us the entire front of the device, compared to its predecessor (which is on the left) for good measure. As was already obvious from yesterday's leak, the Fold6 will adopt a more squared-off design, reminiscent of Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra, with corners that are less rounded than the Fold5's. The bezels for the cover screen seem to have been slightly reduced as well,...

Xreal unveils Android-powered Beam Pro with 3D cameras

No, this isn’t a smartphone – but it does run Android. Meet the Xreal Beam Pro, which is meant to be the perfect companion for the company’s Air AR glasses. It’s certainly a huge upgrade over the original Beam. If you’re not familiar, Xreal makes normal-looking glasses that have displays built in. They have no processing power on board, instead they are driven by a smartphone over USB-C (or a computer). Alternatively, you could plug in the Beam to provide power and handle wireless video casting. The Xreal Beam Pro is so much more. It runs “nebulaOS”, which is Android 14 tuned for AR...

Huawei is the new king of foldable sales, dethroning Samsung

Huawei sold the most foldable smartphones in the first quarter of this year (from January to March), according to a new report released by Counterpoint Research. This is a pretty shocking revelation considering how insignificant Huawei's sales have been in most parts of the world for the past few years, ever since the US government decided to cut its access to Google services. Most people we assume think about Samsung when asked about foldables, but despite that, the Korean company only managed to hit the No.2 spot in the same period of time. What's more, Samsung's sales of foldables...

Geekbench score shows that European Galaxy Z Fold6 units will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 too

We’ve seen a couple of benchmark results from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 so far with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 at the helm – not surprising, since that was the US model (SM-F956U). The Geekbench database now contains a test result from a European unit (SM-F956B) too and it’s still using the Snapdragon. Leaks have suggested that the cheaper Galaxy Z Fold FE will use a mix of Snapdragon and Exynos chips. A report by The Elec claimed that the flagship Galaxy Z Fold6 version will only use the Snapdragon globally - and now there is proof of that, thanks to Geekbench. Galaxy Z Fold6...

5G version of the Redmi Pad Pro appears on TENAA, likely set for a July launch

There are three versions of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad so far – regular, Pro and SE – but none of them offers 5G connectivity. Our Google Pixel 8a battery life test is ready

The Pixel 8a is powered by a 4,492mAh battery, a hair smaller capacity than the Pixel 8’s 4,575mAh cell. It also features a smaller display with a 6.1-inch diagonal instead of 6.2”. And since the two phones use an identical chipset, it's no surprise the Pixel 8a scored a similar Active Use Score as the original Pixel 8 – 11 hours and 25 minutes. It offers 23 hours of call time, over 10 hours of web browsing, over 13 hours of video streaming and over 7 hours of gaming. First evidence that the Tensor G5 will be fabbed by TSMC uncovered

All Tensor chipsets so far and the upcoming Tensor G4 have been based on Exynos chips and fabbed by Samsung. But Google has been working on an in-house design and will reportedly move away from Samsung’s foundries. A trading record provides the first proof that the Tensor G5 will be fabbed by TSMC instead. The G5 will be used in the Pixel 10 series in late 2025, if all goes well. This information was discovered by Android Authority, who created this handy chart to explain all the abbreviations: This is the where the information comes from, shipping details for G5 chips for testing....

Rumor: premium Samsung Galaxy Watch X will be unveiled in late June with better battery life

We’ve been hearing rumors the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch7 series will feature three versions with a new premium tier dubbed “Ultra”. But that might not be the branding that Samsung has settled on – the premium watch might be called “Samsung Galaxy Watch X” instead. That’s not all – the watch will compete head-to-head with the Apple Watch Ultra series (maybe that’s why Samsung wanted to move away from the “Watch7 Ultra” name) and diving will be a key factor. The Galaxy Watch X will reportedly be water resistant up to 100m (330ft), which is the same water resistance rating as the Apple...
