Deals: Motorola's Razr foldables are cheaper than ever, non-folding Motos are on sale too

Foldables are now attainable, if not quite cheap. The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is down to €800, its lowest price yet. It combines a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with a 6.9” FHD+ 165Hz LTPO OLED internal display and a usable 3.6” cover display (144Hz, both 10-bit). The 12+13MP camera leaves something to be desired, but the 3,800mAh battery offers both 30W wired charging and some wireless (only 5W but still). Samsung Galaxy Book4 series laptops to launch in India this month

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 series laptops unveiled last December will launch in India this month, claims IANS. The Galaxy Book4 lineup includes Galaxy Book4 Ultra, Galaxy Book4 Pro, and Galaxy Book4 Pro 360. The source claims all three laptops will be up for pre-bookings in India in mid-February and likely go on sale in the last week of the month, except the Book4 Ultra, which might not be available immediately. Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra There's no word on how much the Galaxy Book4 laptops will cost in India, but if this report is correct, we won't have to wait much to know that. In...

Samsung gets FDA approval for sleep apnea feature on Galaxy Watch

Samsung just received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the sleep apnea feature in the Samsung Health Monitor app. This will detect signs of sleep apnea when using a compatible Galaxy Watch and Samsung phone combo in the US. Which Galaxy Watch, you're wondering? It's still unclear, Samsung's press release doesn't talk specifics, but it's safe to assume at least the Galaxy Watch6 series will get it. For what it's worth, in Korea both the Watch6 and Watch5 families will support the feature, which was previously approved by the relevant authorities there. The...

Turns out the render of the Nothing Phone (2a) was fake

Last Monday we saw a supposed render of the Nothing Phone (2a), courtesy of @OnLeaks. It turns out that the render isn't of the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) but rather of an unreleased Nothing smartphone that never made it. Hence why the render looks so convincing. Initially, Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) questioned the render as it didn't make sense given Nothing's tagline of "See the world through fresh eyes" - a hint at the Nothing Phone (2a)'s redesigned camera island - seen here. Steve (aka @OnLeaks) himself then acknowledged the render wasn't real. Sooo... Seems like my #Nothing...

Next iPhone SE to feature Dynamic Island, rumor claims

The iPhone SE may not be dead after all. Following an early 2023 report that claimed Apple was done with the affordable line, we heard back in December that the iPhone SE 4 would use the iPhone 14's battery. Previously, we even saw renders purportedly showing the next-gen model with an iPhone XR-like design, complete with notch. Today a new rumor says there will be no notch on the next iPhone SE, instead Apple choosing to equip it with the Dynamic Island cutout and assorted functionality, first seen in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. You can see what that would look like in...

ColorOS 14, Realme UI 5, OxygenOS 14 (Android 14) review

Even though Oppo, Realme and OnePlus call their proprietary Android skins with different names, the three UIs look and feel the same and offer the same set of features and pretty much the same user experience, much to the disappointment of long-time OnePlus users who still mourn some of Oxygen OS's proprietary features. Still, regardless of which one of the three brands your phone comes from, you will enjoy a largely smooth and feature-rich experience. Compared to the older ColorOS 13/OxygenOS 13/Realme UI 4.0, the new Android 14-based ColorOS 14/OxygenOS 14/Realme UI 5.0 versions offer...

Samsung Galaxy S24 vs. Samsung Galaxy S24+

The Galaxy S24 family is here, and if you ask us, each device of the trio has its own spot under the sun. Traditionally, the Plus model tends to get the least attention from buyers, and honestly, we don't expect things to be any different this year. However, as we've already said on a few occasions this year, the S24+ is arguably closer to the Ultra than even in terms of features. A large QHD display and an almost identical-size 4,900 mAh battery sound pretty enticing. All the while, the S24+ is still quite a bit cheaper than the S24 Ultra, while the upsell from a vanilla S24 to an S24+ isn't...

T-Mobile launches Magenta Status rewards program with instant discounts

Back in 2016, T-Mobile launched T-Mobile Tuesdays, a program that has been giving free stuff to its customers with no strings attached - other than being its customers. Today the carrier is massively expanding this to become an all-day everyday thing. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Magenta Status. It's like a rewards program, but with all of the benefits accessible from the beginning for everyone, with no hoops to jump through and no "forcing people to chase an elusive metal-named or gem-named status that's always just out of reach", according to T-Mobile's own words. There is one...

Google Pixel Fold 2 hands-on image leaks

Yesterday we heard that the upcoming Google Pixel Fold 2 might skip the Tensor G3 chipset of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro and jump straight to the Tensor G4 in the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, which probably also means it will only be introduced alongside those devices in October, and not in May like the original Pixel Fold. Today an image of what is purported to be a Pixel Fold 2 prototype has been leaked by the same source behind yesterday's report, and you can see it below in all its stealthy glory. It's easy to instantly notice two things that are very different with this model. First, the...

Our OnePlus 12R video review is out

OnePlus switched things up this year, not only releasing the flagship 12 across the world, but also the 12R alongside it. The R family was previously an India-only affair, so this is a pretty big deal, which OnePlus acknowledges as it bills this one the return of the flagship killer - a term it brought forth ten years ago with the OnePlus One. So, with all that in mind, the 12R seems like a pretty important phone for OnePlus, one that might get more sales than the 12 owing to the price difference. We have just finished our video review of the 12R, and we can't wait to tell you what we...

Apple Vision Pro to land in China in April or May

So far the Apple Vision Pro is confined to the US, but of course it's inevitable that it will eventually launch in other countries. And one of them will be China, according to a new report from local media. The headset is going to become available over there in April at the earliest, or May at the latest. The information allegedly comes from unnamed "supply chain sources", so do take it with a pinch of salt. Not too much, though, for Apple CEO Tim Cook himself said the Vision Pro is coming "soon" to China at the release of the headset in New York earlier this month. Confusingly, the...

Report: Apple Watch Ultra with microLED display not coming until 2027

We've heard a lot about Apple's upcoming Watch Ultra with microLED display but each time a report goes out, it paints a more pessimistic picture. The latest analysis comes from The Elec and it suggests Apple's high-end smartwatch with microLED tech will arrive in 2027 at the earliest. Supply chain analysts believe that Apple won't be able to secure a enough microLED displays at a reasonable price before that. The current Watch Ultra's display reportedly costs $40 for Apple to assemble, while the microLED screens will likely cost around $150. That's a huge cost for Apple to...

OnePlus explains why it's only promising 5 years of Android updates, not more

Google has promised 7 years of software updates for its Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, and Samsung followed suit with the exact same promise for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. OnePlus, on the other hand, is only promising four major Android updates and five years of security patches for its flagships. If you were expecting OnePlus to pivot to reach the same position as Google and Samsung, you're in for a disappointment. The company is very happy with its decision not to offer more than five years of support for its devices, and now it's decided to explain why. It turns out it all has to do...

Tablet sales keep falling, Apple still leads

Tablet sales fell 10% in 2023 compared to 2022, according to newly released data from Canalys. For the full year, 135.3 million tablets got sold. Apple still leads, as you'd expect, with a whopping 40% market share from its 54 million shipments. Its market share stayed about flat compared to 2022 when it had 40.4% of the pie, and it's a similar story for Samsung, which is No.2 - its 25.6 million shipments last year gave it 19% of the pie, compared to 19.3% the year before. In third is Lenovo with 9.3 million sales, grabbing 6.9% market share, down from 7.7% in 2022. Next up, Huawei,...

Official-looking Nothing Phone (2a) image reveals Glyph-less design

The Nothing Phone (2a) is on its way and we may now know what it will look like. A seemingly official press image of the upcoming device is here to dispel these early hands-on images (because the dual camera is in the wrong place), and suggest that the Phone (2a) won't feature a Glyph interface. The render shows a phone with a transparent rear panel very similar to the Nothing Phone (1) and (2) but without a wireless charging coil and seemingly no LEDs for a Glyph interface. Previous rumors have given us an overall good idea of the specs - a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+...

We never saw a OnePlus Buds 2 but there were the Buds Z and the Buds Z2 in late 2020 and 2022, respectively. The Buds 3 seem to combine the original Buds and the newer Buds Z range as the company may have realized it has one too many earbuds series on the market right now. vivo V30 in for review

This is the vivo V30 - one of the first Snapdragon 7 Gen 3-equipped phones around, and the latest in vivo's stylish V series. It comes with a USB cable, a case, and one of the chunkiest chargers we've seen. It justifies its size with 80W peak power output, so we'll let it slide. vivo V30 unboxed The V30 is up to vivo's high standards for design and build quality. In a world that's ever moving to a flat, matte look, the vivo V30 is svelte and very curvaceous. Deal: Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ and Tab S6 Lite discounted, Apple iPads also on sale

The free storage upgrade for the Galaxy S24 series from last week is no longer available. Amazon and Best Buy are still offering their gift cards, but you’re only getting half the storage. Also, the OnePlus 12 and 12R are still on pre-order, nothing has changed there. So, let’s look at some tablets this week instead. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is a relative newcomer. It’s an entry-level slate, but it has an 11” IPS LCD, a 1,920 x 1,200px (16:10) panel running at 90Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 695, so there is a 5G option, but there is no discount on that one. As for the Wi-Fi only...

Apple is reportedly preparing to buy an AI startup to anonymize private data in images

You know how both Google and Apple blur faces and license plates and other potentially personal info from their maps imagery? This results in a way more natural look for the resulting images and downright makes blurring seem like...

Apple Vision Pro torture test is hard to watch but pretty informative

The internet is a wonderful place, and of course, it was just a matter of time before somebody started abusing the $3,500 Apple Vision Pro for "testing purposes".
