Xiaomi held an event in New Delhi, India on August 1 for the global debut of the Redmi 12 5G, where it also announced the Redmi 12 4G for the Indian market. Both smartphones went on their first sale in India yesterday and helped the Chinese brand achieve a milestone of INR 3 billion ($36 million/€32 million) in sales. Xiaomi also said it sold 300,000 units of the Redmi 12 series smartphones in its first sale yesterday but didn't reveal how many were 4G and 5G models.
