The second generation Apple Watch has so far been rumored to become official at an event in March, during which the oft-leaked 4-inch iPhone 5e (or 6c, or 7c) should also be unveiled. Now a new rumor out of China claims that trial production for the Apple Watch 2 will be started by the end of January. This seems to align, timeline-wise, with a March announcement (and perhaps an April release) for the wearable. Taiwan's Quanta Computer is said to be the company taking care of manufacturing for Apple's second smartwatch. In fact, Quanta has already confirmed that it's working on the device. The new Apple Watch could come sporting a FaceTime camera, as well as new and improved sensors all-round. The new wearable has also been rumored to be thinner than its predecessor, while keeping its square display. Source (in Chinese) |...
