2025 has been a busy year for OnePlus, with close to a dozen different launches across the globe in various categories. Loser: OnePlus Open 2 The year started on a downer, with the company canceling its foldable plans for 2025 back in February. The OnePlus Open from 2023 was a phenomenal product, not just because it was an excellent foldable, but also because it was an excellent smartphone. It was expected to be followed by...

Samsung unveils Freestyle+ portable projector

Ahead of CES, today Samsung has unveiled the Freestyle+ projector, which is portable. It comes with a peak brightness of 430 ISO lumens, which isn't much - basically fine for a dark room but won't let you see a lot if there's ambient lighting around. That said, it is almost twice as bright as Samsung's previous generation, so there's that. The Freestyle+ has a 180-degree rotating design which supports projection at virtually any angle, including onto walls, ceilings, and even floors, without any additional accessories being required. It boasts a built-in 360-degree speaker, "tuned...

Motorola X70 Air Pro passes through TENAA ahead of its official announcement

Motorola is launching two high-end smartphones in the near future: the X70 Air Pro in China, and the Signature globally. They are both powered by the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, so forgive us for assuming they might actually end up being the same device sold under two different names in different markets (just like the X70 Air is the Edge 70). Today the X70 Air Pro has been certified for sale in China by TENAA, and the listing has confirmed the use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. The phone obviously supports 5G, and measures 162.1 x 76.4 x 7 mm, weighing 187g. Motorola...

My top 4 phones of 2025: Ro

After reviewing the latest and greatest in the industry for many years, it's somewhat difficult to get excited or be truly impressed by a smartphone. However, there are always those phones that just work for me for one reason or another. Xiaomi 15 Ultra Perhaps it's no surprise for my colleagues that I'm picking the current Xiaomi Ultra for yet another year. I chose this phone for my daily driver mainly due to its versatile camera hardware. It has all the focal lengths I need, and the 4.2x telephoto camera uses a large 200MP sensor that allows for further cropping without sacrificing...

Motorola Signature to support a stylus

Motorola is getting ready to unveil its next top of the line smartphone, the Signature. The company has been teasing an announcement taking place on January 6, and this might be when the Signature finally becomes official. We saw the phone in leaked renders last month, and now we get a new promo shot, but this one comes with a twist: a stylus is shown in front of the phone, as you can see. This heavily implies that the Signature will have stylus support, and that's not surprising. In early December a rumor told us that the upcoming Motorola Edge 70 Ultra would support a stylus, and...

2025 Winners and losers: Honor

Honor enjoyed a great 2025! It's been hard to find any losers in the maker's lineup, thanks to thoughtful upgrades and great deals throughout the year. Let's look at how it did. Winner: Honor Pad X9a and MagicPad 3 Honor made a few solid tablets in 2025, but the affordable Pad X9a and flagship MagicPad 3 were able to stamp their authority on markets such as Malaysia, where Honor was the number one tablet maker! Here's what OpenAI's first hardware product designed by Jony Ive is rumored to be

Back in May, OpenAI acquired Jony Ive's startup io (yes that's really how it's spelled), part of his LoveFrom creative design company. io was working on a secretive hardware product, and now a new rumor tells us what it is. A pen. Obviously, this will be no ordinary pen. A past report described it as "contextually aware", and io is now part of OpenAI, so this will definitely be an AI pen. What will it do? Your guess is as good as ours. Interestingly, this will be just the first hardware product from OpenAI, but the company is working on two more, of which one is said to be a "to-go"...
