Lenovo 6.8-inch phablet with 3500mAh battery leaks
Lenovo is pushing the boundaries of what's called a phablet these days and has come up with a 6.8-inch device, which it'll still try to have you use for voice calls. What is so far known as PB1-770N, has passed certification at the Chinese regulator TENAA, revealing most of its specs. Lenovo PB1-770N at TENAA Computing power comes from a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, though architecture remains unspecified, as is the chipset. There's 2GB of RAM on board and 32GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card up to 64GB can be used as well. Lenovo has deemed the FullHD resolution sufficient for the 6.8-inch diagonal and with a 324ppi density most will be inclined to agree. You also get a 13MP primary camera, but you'll be limited to 1080p video. On the front there's a 5MP selfie shooter as well. The PB1-770N, which let's face it, will have to get a more marketable name before launch, is one large device. Some might see a resemblance to a scaled up Apple iPhone 6 Plus, but we're not the ones to judge at this point. The Lenovo phablet measures 186.6 x 96.6 x 7.7mm, and although the footprint may seem unwieldy, the thickness sounds better. Weighing 230g, it's also not exceptionally heavy for its size, but that has come at the cost of battery capacity, which doesn't impress at 3,500mAh. With certification passed, the Lenovo PB1-770N should become official in the coming weeks. We'll have more details on pricing and availability then. Source |...

ZTE Star 3 rumoured to come with 4K display
The ZTE Star 3 - alleged renders of which leaked online a week ago - could come with a 4K display, making it the first such smartphone in the world, according to a new report out of China. As per the report, the device could sport a 5.5-inch display with 2160 x 3840 resolution (pixel density of 806ppi), similar to the one Sharp announced a couple of months ago. In addition, the report also noted that the TFT Panel will make use of a special crystal structure which will not only reduce power consumption but also improve the strength of the display. It is being said that the display on the Star 3 will be manufactured by China's BOE. Needless to say, none of this has been officially confirmed by the company, so take it with a pinch of salt. BlackBerry Passport (unlocked) gets price cut in US and Canada
The unlocked version of the BlackBerry Passport smartphone, which was released back in September last year, has received a price cut in the US and Canada. The device is now available for $499 in the US and $599 CAD in Canada. That's a $50 discount for those in the United states, and a saving of $100 if you are in Canada. It's worth mentioning that the deal, which is for limited time only, is only available if you purchase the handset through the company's own ShopBlackBerry website. The discount comes just months after brokerage firm Morgan Stanley said that the Passport and Classic aren't selling well. Source 1 | Source 2 |...
