ZTE Axon Pro battery life test

ZTE Axon Pro turned out one of the season's surprises - it offers great build quality, interesting design, top-notch chipset and hi-fi audio playback, plus you get a free JBL premium headset with each Axon Pro. The Snapdragon SoC isn't popular with its battery performance, but we were still hoping the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop would manage to do fine with its latest optimizations. Indeed the Axon Pro did very well on the 3G talk time scoring almost 21 and a half hours. The top 10 trending phones of week 36

Last week was dominated by IFA 2015 and the effects of the trade show were far-reaching. But it is not only the news and reviews section that are swapped with new device announcements, the top ten chart felt the effect as well. Undoubtedly Sony takes the cake this year in terms of device announcements. After Samsung's decision to push the Note5 unvailing before IFA, the new Xperia Z5 lineup definitely got a chance to shine and boy did it do so. The Sony fan base has always been quite active on the website, so it comes as no surprise that this week first place goes to the Xperia Z5 Premium, followed by the Z5. The prospect of a record-breaking 4K display inside a mobile was definitely enough to give the Premium and edge and quite a substantial one with almost twice the hits of the Z5. This is a clear sign that the new Xperia handsets will probably stick around in the top ten for at least the next couple of weeks if not more. That may also include the smaller Z5 Compact, which isn't enjoying nearly as much attention, but still managed to swoop into the race out of nowhere like its sibling and take the last place. As for the rest of the top 10 chart, things looks mostly unchanged from last week, with all the usual entries still present, only bumped down a couple of spots by the aforementioned Z5 offers. We find the Note5 at third place, followed by the Moto G (3rd gen). The Galaxy J7 and J5 seem to have swamped places yet again, but they are still pretty close apart. Then we have some more Samsung phones - the Galaxy Grand prime, the A8 and the S6 flagship. It appears the new arrangement has left no room for the Asus Zenfone 2, the Lenovo K3 Note or the iPhone 6, so a lot less variety on the chart this week. .news-item .n-left { float: left; width: 25%; text-align: center; } .news-item .n-right { float: left; width: 75%; } .news-item a { padding-bottom: 0; padding-left: 0; } #review-body .news-item .n-right h2, .reviews-item .n-right h2 { clear: both; padding: 0 0 3px 0px; font: 400 19px Google-Oswald, Arial; margin-top: -4px; } .n-right p { margin-top: 25px; line-height: 155%; } .news-item { padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; border-top: 1px solid #ccc; } .news-item p { margin-left: 0; } .n-right h2 .phone-name { display: inline-block; width: 325px; overflow: hidden; vertical-align: text-bottom; } .n-right h2 a { text-decoration: none; color: #000; } .flat-button{ text-align:center; text-decoration: none !important; font: 400 22px Google-Oswald,Arial !important; -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; font-size: 150%; padding: 20px 60px !important; display: inline-block; white-space: nowrap; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; border-radius: 5px; margin: 10px 0; -webkit-transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; -ms-transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; -moz-transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; -o-transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; color: #fff !important; } .flat-button-1 { background: #0CADA7; } .flat-button-1:hover { background: #0A948F; color: #666666 !important; } .flat-button-2 { background: #FF7E47; } .flat-button-2:hover { background: #EE7440; color: #666666 !important; } .n-right .rank-info { display: inline-block; font-family: "Google-Oswald",Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 18px; font-weight: 100; } .n-right .rank-info .current-rank { font-size: 23px; } .circle { background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #8fb28f; border-radius: 50%; height: 23px; width: 23px; display: inline-block; margin: 0px 10px -1px 10px; } .arrow { width: 0; height: 0; border-style: solid; display: inline-block; margin: 0px 10px -1px 10px; } .arrow-up { border-width: 0 15px 25px 15px; border-color: transparent transparent #0cada7 transparent; } .arrow-down { border-width: 25px 15px 0 15px; border-color: #ff7e47 transparent transparent transparent; } Sony Xperia Z5 Premium RANK: 1NEW IN specs review Sony Xperia Z5 RANK: 2NEW IN specs...

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ battery life test

Now that the fuss after the IFA announcements is finally settling down we got some time to share the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ full battery life test breakdown. Our review was quickly topped by the IFA articles, so in case you've missed it, you may want to check it out. The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge outed very respectable battery life scores, so we were very curious how the bigger S6 edge+ will do. And it turned out stellar. The Galaxy S6 edge+ packs a bigger 5.7" Quad HD Super AMOLED display and runs on the same Exynos 7420 monster chipset the Galaxy S6 duo introduces earlier this year. Its battery is 15% bigger at 3,000 mAh battery, which should make up for the bigger screen to light up. Our first battery test gauges the 3G talk time performance and the Galaxy S6 edge+ aced it with a score beyond the 30 hours mark. IFA 2015 smartwatch comparison

As expected, wearables were a strong presence at IFA. We've gathered the highlights (even if some of them were unveiled earlier or not quite a IFA) and distilled their specifications into tabular form for easy comparison. The Motorola Moto 360 was one of the most hotly anticipated smartwatches and while it still uses a "flat-tire" display, Motorola improved a number of features, including adding a second size option. That's quite popular - all but the Huawei Watch and Samsung Gear S2 come in two sizes. The Huawei Watch itself was one of the more desirable watches... months ago when it was first announced, Huawei really dragged its feet with this one and the fire somewhat died down. Samsung has been dropping hints about a round smartwatch with a rotating bezel and it's one of the most attractive smartwatches to date. We only wish it had a bigger version, going from a 2" screen on the Gear S to a 1.2" screen on the Gear S2 is quite a hit. Then there's the Asus ZenWatch 2, which is the only new watch from IFA with a rectangular screen. It packs a lot of bang for the buck though. Anyway, here's the table. We've highlighted above average features in green and below average features in red. For a more in-depth look, we have hands-on writeups for each watch. OnePlus 2 battery life test

OnePlus 2, flagship killer or not, turned out one very interesting high-end smartphone with massive interest online. OnePlus indeed succeeded into hyping the fans and it seems the company delivered for the most part. Whether the choice of Snapdragon 810 was the right one, or not, is a question with no simple answer. The performance is more than adequate and overheating issues are not possible, as the chip has been tweaked. But what about the battery life then? Let's find out. The day we published our review our OnePlus 2 received an OTA update, which improved on the stability and hopefully the battery performance. We updated our unit and did the tests again. The OnePlus 2 outed similar results on the media, web and call tests, but performance a notch better when left on standby. First things first though. The OnePlus 2 is an A student when it comes to 3G talks. The phone lasted north of 30 hours, when hooked on a 3G call, which is nothing short of impressive. Week 36 in review: IFA 2015, Sony Z5 series and Nexus rumors

Another week went by and it was definitely dominated by IFA. The annual Berlin convention might have shrunk some this year after Samsung decided to move its Note5 launch ahead of schedule, but the venue still offered quite a few exciting announcements. First and foremost on the list is Sony, which in keeping with tradition introduced its latest line of mobile phones. It is the Z5 series and it is tasked with the hard mission of recovering fan trust after the whole Xperia Z3+, Z3v, Z4 fiasco. That is no easy task, but Sony is shooting big with a total of three new flagship phones - the Z5, Z5 Compact and last, but definitely not least - the Z5 Premium, which is officially equipped with a record-setting 4K display. The lineup also brings a brand new 23MP camera, which we actually discovered to be around 25MP and is the first such update since the Z1. You can check our initial hands-on impressions of the Sony lineup in the review section, but IFA had a few other announcements to offer as well. Huawei, for instance outed a new flagship device and finally launched sales on its eagerly-anticipated Huawei Watch. Dubbed the Mate S, the phone is a truly impressive offer with a large and vibrant display, beautiful metal body and advanced features such as a fingerprint scanner and a Force Touch display. Acer was also quite busy and introduced quite a few new devices at the venue. These include more trivial offers such as the Z630, Z530 and Z330. There were also a few Windows 10 offers such as the M330 and M230. Other more interesting offers include a powerful Windows 10 phone dubbed the Jade Primo, which was used to showcase Microsoft Continuum on stage. Also the gaming-centered Predator 6 with an aggressive body and the beastly ten-core MediaTek Helio X20 inside. Lenovo was also quite active with announcement. The Vibe P1 and P1m were showcased, both spouting massive battery packs. Also the Vibe S1 with an impressive dual camera setup on the front for easy refocusing and effect like bokeh. Amidst all the IFA commotion a few rumors did manage to slip through, like more info on the new Nexus by LG, as well as the one by Huawei, which will allegedly both be announced come September 29. A new Moto X model might also be coming our way soon, dubbed the X Force. Other highlights include the LG G4 Pro/Note, also the Xiaomi Mi 4c. Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact announced with 23MP camera Both are powered by the Snapdragon 810 and come with a fingerprint sensor in the power button. LG's Nexus 5 (2015) gets another round of leaked specs The device has so far been rumored to launch alongside a larger, Huawei-made Nexus phablet. Sony's new Z5 series phones actually use a custom 25MP camera sensor Sony has been persistent in using the same 20.7MP sensor for its flagship camera setup since the Xperia Z1. Not any more. Huawei Mate S is official with a 5.5-inch display and Kirin 935 SoC The smartphone features a 13MP OIS camera and a fingerprint sensor on the back and is big on knuckle interaction. The Acer Predator 6 and Predator 8 are new beastly devices aimed at gamers The game-centric phone and tablet have both the looks and specs to impress.
