iOS 9 jailbreak tool now available

Apple's latest mobile operating system, iOS 9, has been jailbroken. The hack comes from the same Chinese team Pangu that has been developing jailbreaking tools for quite some time now, and it works on devices running iOS 9 through 9.0.2. If you're planning to jailbreak your iOS 9 device, then you'll have to use a Microsoft Windows machine to do so as the tool currently involves a Windows-only installer. However, as has been the case previously, a similar installer for Mac will eventually be available we assume. Another thing worth mentioning is that the tool allows you to perform an "untethered" jailbreak, which means that you do not have to plug your device into your PC. Source |...

Google Translate update brings instant visual translation between English/German and Arabic

The Google Translate app has been updated with a couple of new and useful features, including instant visual translation between English (or German) and Arabic, and support for Split View on iPad. The updated app now lets you instantly translate printed text between the aforementioned languages. You can use this feature by simply opening the app, clicking on the camera, and pointing it at the printed text you need to translate. You'll see that the translation will happen in real-time. The update also brings along split view support on compatible iPads, allowing you to use the Google Translate app side-by-side with another app. "So if you're sending an email or text and need to translate, you can see both apps at the same time. And it even works with text from online books or websites," Google said in a blog post. The update has begun rolling out for both iOS and...

Sony RX1R II full-frame compact camera debuts with a whopping 42MP sensor

Sony took the wraps off the RX1R II - the latest installment in its lineup of full-frame compact cameras. The newcomer features the same BSI-CMOS sensor as the Sony a7R II with a whopping 42.4 megapixels. The new sensor comes with an autofocus system with a whopping 399 phase-detect points. Close focusing mode is also available via a dedicated macro switch ring. Optically, the RX1R II packs a 35mm f/2.0 Zeiss Sonnar T* lens. A retractable XGA OLED viewfinder with 2.4 million dots is also on board. The main display of the camera is a 3" tilting LCD unit with 1.2 million dots. Oddly, the video capture capabilities of the Sony RX1R II top out at 1080p footage at 60fps - 4K video is oddly missing here. Connectivity options of the camera include Wi-Fi and NFC. Unsurprisingly, having one of the best full-frame sensor in a such a compact form factor won't come cheap. Sony will ask $3,299 for the RX1R II when it begins shipping it next month....
