Samsung's 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet receives $100 price cut in US

The 18.4-inch Samsung Galaxy View tablet, which went on sale in the US earlier this month, has received a decent price cut in the country - the device is now selling for $499.99, down from its launch price of $599.99. The tablet is available for purchase directly from Samsung, as well as third party retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo. While the official listing shows both black and white color options as available, third party retailers are currently only selling the black variant. Specs-wise, the device is powered by an Exynos 7580 chipset with 1.6 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, and sports an 18.4-inch 1080p touchscreen. It comes with 2GB RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, 2.1 MP front shooter, 5,700 mAh battery, and Android 5.1 Lollipop. Source 1 2 3...

Vivo X6 Plus passes through TENAA

We already know that vivo is holding an event on November 30 (teaser shown below) at which the X6 smartphone - which has already cleared TENAA - will be unveiled. Now, just a week before the event, another vivo handset dubbed X6 Plus has been spotted listed on TENAA's website. While the TENAA listing reveals that the smartphone - which is already 3C certified in China - will come in two variants: the vivo X6Plus L and X6Plus D, it unfortunately does not include any specifications or images of these models. Rumors say that the X6 Plus will be powered by a 10-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset, and sport a 5.7-inch (1440 x 2560 pixel resolution) display. It is expected to come with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal memory, pack in a 4,000mAh battery, and feature a 21MP rear and 12MP front camera. Needless to say, none of these has been officially confirmed, so take it with a heavy dose of salt. Source 1 2 |...

Nexus 6P users complaining about microphone issues

Google and Huawei just can't seem to catch a breath. After the bend test videos and the more recent glass shattering, the Huawei manufactured Nexus 6P seems to be having another issue: poor microphone quality. Users are reporting that the other person on the call is unable to hear them properly. This happens in regular voice calls and also in VoIP calls, such as in Hangouts. Some have reported it only in speakerphone mode and others in both speakerphone and earpiece mode. The issue seems to be widespread enough, with people on Google Forums, xda-developers, and on reddit having the same issue. Google is currently aware of the issue and is investigating it further. LG Nexus 5X battery test results

The LG Nexus 5X comes with Doze, the new Android feature that promises to extend standby time by being smart about when it lets apps run in the background. To be fair, the old Nexus 5 will get the same feature after the update, but its replacement has two hardware improvements that software updates can't make up for. The first is the bigger battery - 2,700mAh - and the second is the newer chipset, Snapdragon 808, built on a 20nm process instead of the 28nm process used for the Snapdragon 800. The new Nexus 5X significantly improves the talk time over its predecessor and indeed posts and above average of 17 hours. We've seen much better performance, the Moto X Style (S808, 3,000mAh) went over 22 hours, and worse - the LG G4 (S808, 3,000mAh) couldn't quite make it to 17 hours. Top 10 trending phones of week 47

The winning streak of the Samsung Galaxy J7 goes on for another week and the largest phone from the affordable J-series has now been on top for a total of, well, 7 weeks. And you may have guessed the runner-up too - the Galaxy J5 has accompanied its big bro on more than one occasion. The Sony Xperia Z5 joins them on the podium, kicking the OnePlus down to 5th. It's another Samsung Galaxy J-series member, the J2, that squeezes in between those two in fourth spot. Further down the ranks we can find the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime in 6th - hardly a week has passed without it in the chart. The Galaxy Note5 places seventh, gaining two spots over last week's position. The Galaxy S6 is again one behind its phablet sibling. Motorola's Moto G (3rd gen) has climbed one spot into ninth, while the iPhone 6s returns to the chart in 10th. As always, feel free to follow the links below to find out just why these 10 smartphones were the most popular ones in the past week. .news-item .n-left { float: left; width: 25%; text-align: center; } .news-item .n-right { float: left; width: 75%; } .news-item a { padding-bottom: 0; padding-left: 0; } #review-body .news-item .n-right h2, .reviews-item .n-right h2 { clear: both; padding: 0 0 3px 0px; font: 400 19px Google-Oswald, Arial; margin-top: -4px; } .n-right p { margin-top: 25px; line-height: 155%; } .news-item { padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; border-top: 1px solid #ccc; } .news-item p { margin-left: 0; } .n-right h2 .phone-name { display: inline-block; width: 325px; overflow: hidden; vertical-align: text-bottom; } .n-right h2 a { text-decoration: none; color: #000; } .flat-button{ text-align:center; text-decoration: none !important; font: 400 22px Google-Oswald,Arial !important; -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; font-size: 150%; padding: 20px 60px !important; display: inline-block; white-space: nowrap; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; border-radius: 5px; margin: 10px 0; -webkit-transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; -ms-transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; -moz-transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; -o-transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; color: #fff !important; } .flat-button-1 { background: #0CADA7; } .flat-button-1:hover { background: #0A948F; color: #666666 !important; } .flat-button-2 { background: #FF7E47; } .flat-button-2:hover { background: #EE7440; color: #666666 !important; } .n-right .rank-info { display: inline-block; font-family: "Google-Oswald",Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 18px; font-weight: 100; } .n-right .rank-info .current-rank { font-size: 23px; } .circle { background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #8fb28f; border-radius: 50%; height: 23px; width: 23px; display: inline-block; margin: 0px 10px -1px 10px; } .arrow { width: 0; height: 0; border-style: solid; display: inline-block; margin: 0px 10px -1px 10px; } .arrow-up { border-width: 0 15px 25px 15px; border-color: transparent transparent #0cada7 transparent; } .arrow-down { border-width: 25px 15px 0 15px; border-color: #ff7e47 transparent transparent transparent; } Samsung Galaxy J7 RANK: 1WAS: 1 specs review Samsung Galaxy J5 RANK: 2WAS: 2 specs review Sony Xperia Z5 RANK: 3WAS: 5 specs review Samsung Galaxy J2 RANK: 4WAS: 6 specs gallery OnePlus X RANK: 5WAS: 3 specs review Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime RANK: 6WAS: 7 specs review Samsung Galaxy Note5 RANK: 7WAS: 9 specs review Samsung Galaxy S6 RANK: 8WAS: 8 specs review Motorola Moto G (3rd gen) RANK: 9WAS: 10 specs review Apple iPhone 6s RANK: 10NEW IN specs...

Weekly poll: Apple iPad Pro - Hot or Not

You can now get your hands on an iPad Pro, we did. Apple's XL-sized tablet marks a new chapter in Cupertino's tablet efforts, one where the iPad goes from a content consumption gadget to a content creation one. The first-party keyboard and stylus are key for that. There have been third-party solutions almost for as long as there has been an iPad, but they never had iOS-level support nor Apple's design touch. Editing 4K videos is also a key selling point - the tablet can stream three 4K videos simultaneously and edit one. Whatever your work orientation, the huge 12.9" 2,048 x 2,732px screen makes even flagship laptops jealous and is much more conductive to working rather than just browsing. It's 78% bigger than an iPad Air screen and due to its 4:3 aspect ratio looks much bigger than even the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. The Apple Pencil, that's the stylus, is tracked 240 times per second so you can draw with no lag and its pressure sensitive too. Galaxy Note users aren't that impressed though, S Pens have done that for years and without battery too. The keyboard seems like it threatens the MacBook Air, but Apple says it will never make a converged laptop (with Apple "never" is just another word for "not yet"). The Microsoft Surface has several generations of keyboard cases and the new Surface Book feels even more like a laptop - you can adjust the angle of the screen, which you can't with Apple's tablet. We'll understand if you're tempted to get an iPad Pro just for gaming. The latest Apple A9X chipset is a beast and it's paired with 4GB of RAM (the most any iOS device has ever seen). The quad speaker setup is pretty sweet too, but packing up the Pro for a weekend getaway is not easy - the tablet is about as portable as a MacBook Air. So, that's it then - a novel tablet in Apple's lineup, even if it's not very innovative considering the rest of the market. It will attract professionals, maybe some hardcore Apple users and people who pay premium for oversized gaming laptops. Does it attract you? Cast your vote and together we'll find out the general attitude towards the Apple iPad...
