Fingerprint readers convincingly beat 3D face scanning in a previous poll of ours, now let's talk about the positioning. In-display readers are available on a few premium devices, but the tech is quickly gaining popularity. The Meizu 16 and 16 Pro have already brought the price of admission way down - the smaller model starts at €340. The Samsung Galaxy Note9 entered our top 10 last week in second place and it was almost inevitable that it will take the top in its first full week as an official phone. Weekly poll results: the Samsung Galaxy Note9 is great, its price isn't

About 1 in 5 people who voted in last week's poll say they have pre-ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note9. Among those who are holding back the most commonly cited reason why is the price. The Galaxy Note8 was a bit cheaper in the US and the UK ($70 or £30 less) than the Note9 pricing. The new model comes with double the base storage and a more advanced S Pen, which probably added to the cost.
