Honor MagicWatch 2 review

Honor MagicWatch 2 was revealed last month as part of an event that also saw the arrival of Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro smartphones. It debuted in China with the United Kingdom availability coming just two days ago. More markets are about to join the fun in the early days of 2020 so we decided to take it for a spin and see whether it's going to be a worthy purchase. The MagicWatch 2 is a new wearable in Honor's portfolio, but it looks a lot like the Huawei Watch GT 2 that we already reviewed. Of course, the subsidiary did all its best to differentiate itself and the result is a...

Week 51 in review: 108MP camera, Google turmoil and ongoing 5G hype

Less then ten days remain before we roll the calendar over to the nice and round year 2020. Beyond this neat decimal symmetry, the next few months actually have a lot in store for the mobile industry and tech realm as a whole and we are already starting to see clear hints about it. Among the more prominent expectations is Samsung's second-gen 108MP camera sensor, said to debut on Galaxy S11 flagships. The more interesting rumor is about its 9-to-1 Bayer pixel setup. Yes, like quad-Bayer, just grouping 3x3 pixels under the same color, potentially unlocking unrivaled low-light...

Top 10 trending phones of week 51

Xiaomi was the undisputed leader in our trending chart for several weeks, but Samsung came back with a vengeance - its newly announced A-series phone stormed the top 10 and made the Korean maker the most frequent name on it. On top we have the Galaxy A71, which also did great in our weekly poll. The Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 managed to retain their spots on the rostrum, but in fourth we have the smaller member of the new A-series duo - the Galaxy A51. Last week's leader - the Redmi K30 is all the way down in fifth, followed by the lowest standing member of the newly...

Samsung Galaxy M30s in for review

Samsung's revised Galaxy A-series has been in the spotlight consistently this past year but the brand's new M-series has also brought a few ultra popular devices. The latest M-member to arrive at our doorstep is the Galaxy M30s and it just happens to sport the largest battery on any Samsung phone to date - a beefy 6,000 mAh cell. Taking a quick look you immediately notice the new camera arrangement on the back but everything else looks strikingly familiar to the outgoing M30. You might have noticed that "s" upgrades on Samsung phones are pretty minor but with the M30s they come in...

Weekly poll results: Samsung Galaxy A71 outshines its sibling, the A51

Last week's poll shows that Samsung has a potential hit on its hands - the Galaxy A71 received strong support. However, its retail price is yet to be announced, so we'll see how that goes. Its sibling, the Galaxy A51, didn't fare as well, only getting 40% positive vote, which was nearly even with the "the A71 is better" option at 35%. We do know the price of this one, $350/€310, which is above the asking price of premium mid-rangers in the Redmi and Realme lineups. That should be an even bigger worry for the Galaxy A71 as it will inevitably cost more (we described it as the...
