In the absence of major phone launches Xiaomi strengthen its grasp on our trending chart, the Chinese company making the five most popular phone in our database this week. Flashback: Batman and Superman love Nokia, the X-Men use LG

A couple of weeks ago we looked back at some phones with true star power – phones featured in blockbuster movies. Week 16 in review: M1 iPad, AirTags official, Galaxy S20 FE with SD865 is here

Another week came and went, and it's time we did a recap. Apple's first event of the year took place and it brought new iPad Pros, a new iMac, the AirTag smart tracker and a purple paint job for the iPhone 12 and 12 mini. The Apple iPad now has an M1 processor straight off the MacBook Pro and Air. It's unclear if the tablet will finally start to do more computer stuff like have proper file system support, or run desktop apps like Final Cut Pro. But it now has support for Thunderbolt 4 through its USB-C port, allowing it to power an external monitor. The iPad Pro 11-inch retained its...

Weekly poll: will you buy into the computer-grade performance of the new iPad Pros?

Has the post-PC era finally arrived? Apple has been promising it since the original iPad launched, but its slates (while quite popular) never truly replaced PCs. The new iPad Pro models that were unveiled on Tuesday are the first one we can believe are a credible threat. That is because in a way they are PCs – the iPad Pro 11 (2021) and 12.9 (2021) are powered by the same Apple M1 chipset as the latest MacBooks and the new iMac (also announced this week). These slates are not substantially different from the fanless MacBook Air, you can even configure them with up to 16GB of RAM and 2TB of...
