Polycarbonate high-end Lumia leaks with S810 inside

A lot of rumors have been floating , regarding the potential future Windows phone flagship, and it couldn't come soon enough. But things don't get any clearer as time progresses, instead new and different info keeps surfacing. This latest leak pictures a polycarbonate device, which looks a lot like a Lumia 735 with its fat buttons, but with a camera hump bolted on, much like the one on the Lumia 1020. This interesting blend of designs is said to be packing a 5.2-inch FullHD display and top-end Snapdragon 810 chipset. The display is the same as what the Lumia 940 was said to feature, but the SoC doesn't mach the previous rumor, not to mention that the Lumia 930 had a metal frame and it would be illogical for Microsoft to take a step back with the new model. Sony Xperia C5 Ultra prototype leaked by the Sao Paulo PD

Sony Xperia C5 Ultra popped up on our radar just recently. Previously known as Lavender, the smartphone leaked in some blurry photos and a piece of the official manual. Its key feature is supposed to be a 5.5" 1080p bezel-free display. Today the Xperia C5 Ultra was featured in a very detailed photo, courtesy of Sao Paulo Police Department. Apparently the police recovered a stolen unit of Sony Xperia C5 Ultra. It went missing within the Brazilian certification agency (Anatel) and the phone was later advertised on Facebook for an upcoming auction. The Brazilian forces did some good undercover work and retrieved the Xperia C5 Ultra unit. What happens next is rather interesting. Instead of returning the Xperia C5 Ultra prototype directly to Sony or Anatel, the police published a report about recovering the device accompanied by a press photo. And thanks to this excellent police work we can now confirm the Xperia C5 Ultra indeed comes with a bezel-free display. The Xperia C5 Ultra should come with a 5.5" 1080p display, while the rest of the known specs include a MediaTek MT6752 chip with an octa-core processor and 2GB RAM, plus two 13MP cameras with LED flash - one for the back and one at the front. OZO is Nokia's new pro-grade virtual reality camera

Just because Nokia is on a smartphone making hiatus, doesn't mean it can't be the frontrunner in other areas of modern day tech. The OZO is one prime example, the world's first commercially available (well, it should be when it launches in Q4 2015) virtual reality camera for pros. Announced yesterday in California, but developed in the Finnish company's R&D department in Tampere. In the words of Nokia president Ramzi Haidamus "OZO aims to advance the next wave of innovation in VR by putting powerful tools in the hands of professionals who will create amazing experiences for people around the world". The camera will do that by capturing 3D video using 8 synchronized sensors and an equal number of integrated microphones. LG's profit for Q2 2015 down 60%, TVs and smartphones to blame

LG's second quarter financial results are out and the numbers look grim. The company reports its lowest quarterly operating profit since Q4 2013 - KRW244 billion ($211 million) is down 60% from KRW610 billion the previous year. Compare that to initial analyst estimates, which pointed to a KRW395 billion figure. Despite remaining the world number two TV manufacturer, LG is struggling in that department, where it registers a KRW 82.7 billion ($71.5 million) loss. A year before, the division was twice that in profit, though the downward trend was already rather obvious with a $5.4 million loss last quarter. Meanwhile, LG's mobile communications division is barely in the black, reporting a KRW 0.2 billion profit - some $173,000, not enough for a mid-level exec's yearly salary. The future is also not looking good, analysts report, as the smartphone market is getting increasingly crowded and LG is failing to stand out.
