Samsung unveils the Nougat waiting list: Galaxy S6, Note5 and others are invited

Samsung is sending out Nougat treats to Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners (since January 17) but the latest press release lists devices that are next in line (well, in the first half of this year). The previous flagships - Galaxy S6 (including edge and Plus versions) and Galaxy Note5 - are among the eligible devices. The original A-series is getting it too, the Galaxy A3 and A8 anyway, the A5 and A7 are not on the list (though the A5 should be). New T-Mobile LG V20 update brings December security patch

The T-Mobile variant of the LG V20 has started receiving a new update. Arriving as software version H91810j and weighing in at over 580MB, the new firmware brings along multiple changes, including Android security fixes for December. Aside from the security patch, the update also includes a fix related to Android Pay as well as an audio quality patch. Several other minor bug fixes are included as well. Samsung Galaxy S8's Bixby virtual assistant will recognize products and text

With the Galaxy S8, Samsung will enter the AI virtual assistant fight and in typical Samsung fashion, it's loading it to the teeth with features. Bixby, as it is called, will integrate with apps and will support Samsung Pay. Bixby will more than listen to your commands, it will use the S8's camera for visual search and text recognition too. The thing sounds similar to Google's Goggles app, which could scan barcodes to offer more info on the product. BlackBerry Priv on T-Mobile starts getting January security update

T-Mobile has started pushing out a new update to BlackBerry Priv units on its network. Carrying the build number of AAI459 and weighing in at 126.3MB, the update brings Android security fixes fir January. Aside from the latest security patch, the update does not include any other changes - at least that's what the official release notes on the magenta carrier's website reveal. As is usually the case with OTA rollouts, it may take some time for the update to hit your device. You can manually check if it hit your device by heading to your handset's Settings menu. Source

Google resolves Android 7.1.1 in-car Bluetooth problem, update coming soon

The in-car Bluetooth connectivity problem that users of Nougat version 7.1.1 have been facing for months now has been fixed by Google. Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and C9 Pro both pass through the FCC

Samsung's release of the new "Pro" line of the Galaxy C family has been rather chaotic.
