LG G4 on T-Mobile getting January security update

T-Mobile has started rolling out a new update to LG G4 units on its network. Arriving as software version H81120r and weighing in at around 90MB, the update brings along Android security fixes for the month of January. Sadly, the update is still based on Marshmallow (version 6.0.1), meaning those waiting for the Nougat update are currently out of luck. Aside from the latest security patch, no other changes are included in the update (at-least that's what the T-Mobile LG G4 webpage reveals). Source

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 with Android Nougat receives WiFi certification

Back in November last year, there were reports that Nougat firmware for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is in the works. The following month a Nougat-powered Galaxy Tab S2 was spotted in benchmarks. And now, the device has received WiFi certification. The certification reveals that the tablet is powered by Android Nougat version 7.0. Sadly, there's currently no information on when the update will be rolled out, but given that it has started collecting necessary certifications, we expect the roll out to begin sooner than later. Top Xiaomi Mi 6 version to have ceramic body like the Mi Mix

Not long ago we heard that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 would be offered in three different versions - one with a flat screen and MediaTek's Helio X30, another with a flat display and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835, and a top of the line model with a dual-curved touchscreen and the Snapdragon 835 at the helm. Now a new rumor from China goes into a bit more detail about these. Apparently the highest-end (and most expensive) iteration of the Mi 6 will also get a ceramic body a la the Mi Mix as well as 6GB of RAM. The two flat-screened models will have to make do with 4GB of memory. Xiaomi Mi Mix...

HTC's Android Wear smartwatch project is dead, exec confirms

A few days ago we got a new round of leaked images purportedly showing an upcoming HTC smartwatch running Android Wear. This mythical beast, developed in partnership with Under Armour, was first talked about in 2015, believe it or not. Then last year some pictures leaked, but other than that we haven't heard anything about it. That's very odd for a device that's due to launch soon. And it turns out that there's a very simple explanation for the lack of any more rumors, leaks, and speculation about the HTC smartwatch. Namely, that the project is dead. As in, the company will not release a...
