Apple supplier BOE could lose millions of iPhone 14 OLED panel orders

Chinese display maker Beijing Oriental Electronics (BOE) struck a deal with Apple to supply OLED panels for the iPhone 14 series. However, South Korean publication The Elec reports that the company is yet to receive approval from Apple for the iPhone 14's displays, and it could actually lose the order of about 30 million OLED screens for the 2022 iPhones. That's because BOE unilaterally changed the design of the circuit width of the iPhone 13's OLED panels earlier this year to increase the yield rate, which resulted in Apple asking BOE to halt the production of the panels. Apple...

Google Pixel Watch memory and storage amounts leak

As you may know, the Pixel Watch is coming. Long a figment of tech enthusiasts' imaginations, this year it's actually real - Google itself confirmed as much, seemingly unable to keep it a secret even though the launch is only happening "this fall", which probably translates into October. So, we have a few months of Pixel Watch leaks ahead of us, and the latest one from about a week ago told us that the wearable would use Samsung's Exynos 9110 chipset. That's a bit concerning since that SoC came out in 2018 and is built on a 10nm process. Today a new source seemingly corroborates the...

Some T-Mobile users experience bug with eSIM on iPhones

Yesterday afternoon, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman Tweeted about an issues that some T-Mobile customers are experiencing on iPhones. Specifically, some lines activated with eSIM were suddenly deactivated from iMessage and FaceTime with no way to re-activate the line with Apple’s core communication services. There is a very nasty iPhone and @TMobile bug where iMessage and FaceTime for a device’s phone number will randomly deactivate and there is no way to reactivate it. The only solution that worked for me is getting a new physical SIM card. An extremely disappointing issue.— Mark Gurman...
