Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader updated to support USB 3.0 on iPad Pro

Apple's Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader has long been the go-to accessory for photographers who wanted to use the iPad (or the iPhone) for transferring and editing the photos they captured on their digital camera. It is one of the few quick and easy ways to transfer images, both RAW and JPEG, from an SD card to an iOS device. The accessory has received a minor update, that would normally go unnoticed if you don't pay attention. As you may know by now, the Lightning connector on the iPad Pro is slightly different from those on other iOS devices, wherein it actually supports USB 3.0 but there weren't any accessories to take advantage of it until now. The updated Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader includes USB 3.0 support for the iPad Pro, and can fall back to USB 2.0 for iPhones and other iPads. This means if you have a high speed memory card for your camera, you will see much quicker transfer speeds on the iPad Pro with the updated reader, especially for those massive 4K videos that the iPad Pro is perfectly equipped to handle. The reader costs the same $29 as before. Source •...
