YU announces updated Yureka Plus with Full HD display and improved camera

YU has announced an updated version of its Yureka smartphone. Called the Yureka Plus, the only differences between the old and the new model is the jump from 720p to Full HD 1080p display and a new camera. The display is the same size as before, which is 5.5-inches. As for the sensor, YU is now using a 13 megapixel Sony IMX214 sensor with 5 element Largan Blue lens and f/2.2 architecture. The resolution is same as before but the new sensor should definitely have significantly improved camera quality, which wasn't a strong point of the previous Yureka. The rest of the phone is seemingly identical, running on the same Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD slot, dual SIM support, LTE, 5 megapixel front camera, 2,500mAh battery, and Cyanogen OS 12. Lenovo backed ZUK Z1 to be unveiled next month

Chinese start-up Zuk, which is backed by tech giant Lenovo and local software company 360 - will be holding a press conference on August 11 where they will be unveiling their high-end Z1 smartphone. From what is known till now, the device will run Cyanogen OS, and feature a USB Type-C 3.0 port as well as a fingerprint sensor dubbed U-Touch. It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset with 3GB of RAM, sport a 5.5-inch display, come with 13MP main camera, and pack in a 4000mAh+ battery. Samsung Galaxy A8 to reportedly go on sale in South Korea this week

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Tab S2 9.7 are now official

As rumored last week, Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Tab S2. Available in 9.7-inch and 8-inch variants, the device is claimed to be the company's thinnest and lightest tablet of its size. "The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever, it also gives users quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features," said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Division at Samsung. "We believe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the most complete personal visual device designed for consumers to carry and use anywhere." Specs-wise, the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is powered by an octa-core processor (quad 1.9GHz + quad 1.3GHz), and sports an 8-inch Super AMOLED display with 1536 x 2048 pixels resolution. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB expandable internal storage options, and packs in a 4000mAh battery. In terms of camera, the Tab S2 8.0 features an 8MP rear unit and a 2.1MP front shooter. It is 5.6mm thin, weighs in at 265g, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
