Weekly poll: Best flagship of Spring 2017

Aside from the Xiaomi Mi 6 (which launches next week), all flagships for the first half of 2017 have been announced. Which one has you excited? The Mi 6 is promising Snapdragon 835 on a budget, not to mention dual cameras, plenty of memory and more. It's not clear if there will be a Plus model (the Mi 6 will have a 5.1" screen) or if that will be reserved for the 6s generation. Still, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is the fastest route to S835 (unless you live in the Exynos zone). It stuck to only a single camera, but the Infinity Display is spectacular. And it does have a plus model, which is...

Week 15 in review: Xiaomi Mi 6 closer than ever, Nokia 9 to break the bank

The news feed this week was filled with stories from Asian manufacturers. The biggest talking point is the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 that will see the light of day on April 19. Pricing, specs, benchmarks and the official launch date were among the top-read articles during the past seven days. Huawei launched a big and powerful Enjoy 7 Plus, Galaxy S8 smashed pre-order records in South Korea, and Oppo R11 leaked in GFXBench database. Nokia is always a topic that gets you reading and this week wasn't an exception - Nokia 9's alleged price is the most read article. Another story that got...

Weekly poll results: XZ Premium's long shadow keeps the Xperia XZs from the spotlight

Let's just say that the Sony Xperia XZs did not ignite people's imaginations. In last week's poll, twice as many voters are waiting for the Xperia XZ Premium than those planning to get the XZs. Worse still, the most popular option proved to be "I'm looking at other brands." Did Sony do enough? The upgrades over the XZ are small and 12% of voters are "fine with the old one" (compare that with 15% voting for "upgrade"). To be fair, Sony is targeting holdouts with Z5 or older flagships, to them the upgrades will be more substantial. But even they will be tempted to wait a few months and...

Amazon planning on launching Fire TV Stick in India

Amazon will be launching the Fire TV Stick in India soon, according to a report by TechPP. The streaming device was supposed to launch late last year when Amazon launched the Prime service in India but got delayed for some reason. According to the report, the Fire TV Stick is expected to be priced at INR 1999 ($31) for Prime customers. The price for non-Prime customers is said to be INR 3,999. This means it's cheaper to get a Prime membership in India than the price difference between the Prime and non-Prime variants. The Fire TV Stick runs a customized version of Android...

The original Galaxy C9 Pro (SM-C9000) that was announced back in October last year comes with 64GB storage. Color options for the original device include gold, pink gold, and black, but the TENAA listing mentions only black and gold for the new variant. There's currently no information on when this new variant will be launched and what price tag it will carry....
