Samsung today announced its plans to offer BBM on its self branded application store that comes pre-installed on its Galaxy range of Android devices. The move will start off first in Africa which is still a heavy user of BBM services. We expect the application to be available on their app store in other territories as well. “BBM provides one of the best and most robust mobile messaging experiences today. BBM has always set the standard for mobile instant messaging and we are thrilled to bring this experience to Samsung customers across Africa,” said Andrew Bocking, Executive Vice President BBM at BlackBerry. Samsung mentions that BBM on its devices will offer multi-person chat and BBM groups as well. We really don't expect Samsung devices to be getting any exclusive features here. BBM will be available globally towards the end of summer and given the announcement by Samsung, we feel that the application might launch sooner rather than later.
