Next-gen Amazon Kindle Fire HD rumored to run on MediaTek chipsets

Amazon is getting ready to launch its third iteration of the Kindle Fire series and last week, we brought you information that Amazon is planning to use Snapdragon 800 SoCs for its Kindle Fire series this year. In complete contrast to that rumors, we have new set of rumors that Amazon is working with MediaTek to bring its MT8135 Chipset instead. The rumor from last week claimed that both the 7inch Kindle Fire version and 8.9inch version will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3GHz. But according to the latest rumor, MediaTek is said to have landed a deal for producing chipsets to power Amazon's next gen Kindle Fires. The recently announced chipset from MediaTek - MT8135 is expected to power the devices. The MediaTek MT8135 has two Cortex A15 cores and two Cortex A7 cores designed to work simultaneously enhancing the performance and efficiency. The MT8135 comes with connectivity features like WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM Radio. It will be interesting to see how Amazon uses these radios in their tablets.
