With MWC 2015 just over a week away hype is growing around new device announcements. Samsung is definitely in the spotlight with its highly-anticipated Galaxy S6 flagship and so is the One (M9) by HTC. Sony has already made it clear that the eagerly-awaited Xperia Z4 will not be making an appearance at the Barcelona venue, but nevertheless the Japanese tech giant will still be present, even though without a formal press event. Naturally the manufacturer will be bringing a few new devices to the show and from the looks of things mid-range offers. One of these might have just leaked today in two separate benchmark scores. The handset, dubbed Sony E2303, is apparently undergoing tests and has been spotted on both Geekbench and GFXBench. Sony has went for upper mid-range hardware and has built the new device around the Qualcomm snapdragon 615, which was the top of the line model from the 600 series before yesterday's announcement of the 618 and 620. The chipset is accompanied by an Adreno 405 GPU. Going further down the specs sheet we find a 5.2-inch, 720p display, 4GB of onboard storage and 2GB of RAM, or 1.8 GB to be exact. Camera setup also looks adequate for a mid-range offering. The main shooter is a 12MP one with a reported maximum resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels and Full HD video recording capabilities and the front-facing is a 5 MP module with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and Full HD video as well. OS is Android 5.0 Lollipop. Sadly there is no info on battery capacity, but there are extensive performance scores available so you can take a more detailed look at the future phone if you desire. Sony will formally open its MWC booth on March 2 and we expect to find the new smartphone there along with the purple Xperia Z3. Until then we can only wait and see if Sony has some other surprise in store for us. Thanks for the tip CoolKid. Source 1 | Source...
