Asus announces Zenfone Max with 5,000 mAh battery

Asus just launched a new mid-range smartphone entirely focused on battery life. Dubbed Zenfone Max it comes with an ample 5,000 mAh battery that should give it extra long power autonomy. The massive battery of the smartphone can even charge other devices when connected to the phone. Exact endurance numbers haven't been quoted, but given the humble internals we expect them to be impressive. The Asus Zenfone Max is built around a 5.5-inch IPS display of 720p resolution that has Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. It is powered by a Snapdragon 410 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and 2GB RAM. Internal storage is 16GB, but that's further expandable via the microSD slot. The primary camera on the Zenfone Max features a 13 megapixel sensor, dual-LED dual-tone flash and laser-assisted autofocus, while the 85-degree wide-angle lens selfie snapper produces images of up to 5MP resolution. The dual-SIM device will launch in October, running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI 2.0 on top. It will support 4G LTE networks, 3G with HSPA+, GPS and Bluetooh 4.0....
