ASICS, a popular Japanese sportwear maker, has bought the Runkeeper fitness-tracking app. It's hardly a surprise as Adidas kicked the acquisition season by getting Runtastic app. According to Runkeeper's track data, ASICS is the most popular shoe brand within its user database and this maybe one of the reasons for the move. Runkeeper's CEO is also keen on this kind of joint operations as it will provide for "a deeper, more trusted relationship with consumers".
