'Android is doing better than ever' is the takeaway from a research carried out by Strategy Analytics. Google's OS accounts for a whopping 87.5% of total smartphone shipments in the period spanning July 1 to September 30. The Android share has grown by 3.4 percentage points year on year to the detriment of both iOS and other operating systems. In Q3 2016 iOS commands 12.1% of the market - 1.5pp down from the same period last year.
