LG announces new partners to build car infotainment systems with a voice assistant

LG unveiled webOS Auto back in September last year, having partnered with Microsoft. Today the company brought in two more partners - Cerence and Luxoft - to strengthen its In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system. Cerence is a spin-off from Nuance, a long-time player in voice recognition, which powered Siri prior to iOS 11. The goal of this partnership, naturally, is to build a new voice assistant based on the Cerence ARK (AI Reference Kit).
