The shutdown of the Nextel PTT network by Sprint helped lead the carrier to its 23rd consecutive losing quarter; according to Kevin Smithen at Macquarie Capital, the quarter was "ugly, but no worse than expected." For the third quarter, the carrier reported a net loss of $1.6 billion or 53 cents a share.
