The successor to the Redmi Note is in the works - alleged back panels of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 have leaked alongside basic specs and price for the phablet. The Redmi Note 2 will keep the 5.5" screen though the bezels got bigger and the device now measures 159 x 82mm, up from 154 x 78.7mm for the current model. It's not clear if the resolution will stay at 720p, but we know the the camera still has a 13MP sensor. Any changes to the video recording facilities are yet to be revealed though by the looks of it, the new camera will at least get a dual-LED upgrade. The chipset on the Redmi Note 2 will be upgraded to a 64-bit enabled Snapdragon 615 (with an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor) and there will be 2GB RAM on all models (some versions of the original had 1GB). The rumored price for the phablet is CNY 1,500 - that's $245/194. That's 50% over the launch price of the previous Redmi Note device, so we'll if Xiaomi has upgraded enough to justify the price.
