Xiaomi's next flagship, allegedly dubbed Mi5, is due to launch on January 15, which is less than a week away. Still, impatient leaksters continue to contribute. This time around it's a drawing, dated back to mid-November, of a metal chassis with dimensions 140.89 x 71.4 x 5.1mm. Previous info on the device has suggested a nearly bezelless screen and if that 5.1mm doesn't get much fatter covered in plastics, we are going to be looking at one seriously attractive Xiaomi top model. Xiaomi Mi5 frame | A batch of manufactured frames In the former leaks a 5.5 to 5.7-inch screen was speculated. A 5.5-incher, measuring 121.8 x 68.5mm might just be able to fit the aforementioned frame with room for minimal side bezels, but a 5.7-inch in such a narrow body would be nothing short of a miracle. Xiaomi will likely move to QHD resolution and will rely on a Snapdragon 805 chipset, paired with no less than 3GB of RAM. Meanwhile 3D renderings of a phablet that's allegedly named Mi4s have appeared, supposedly straight from a factory of Chinese manufacturer Foxconn. They were accompanied by hardware specs strangely similar to the ones above, making everything all the more confusing. It makes little marketing sense in launching two devices with same innards and only slightly different design, so it may all end up being a naming convention issue. Xiaomi Mi4s renderings Then a different source just tweeted yet another set of images, showing a scaled up Mi4 with practically no side bezels. They look rather obviously fake, but it's your choice if you want to believe them. Xiaomi Mi5 renderings After all, some six days from now the mysteries will be cleared at the official event.
