India's affordable tablet project Aakash closed

A Right to Information (RTI) query has revealed that the low cost tablet project Aakash, which was announced by the Indian government back in 2011, was closed in March this year. "The Aakash project at IIT Bombay was closed on March 31, 2015, after successfully completing all targets," said the RTI reply. "Specifications for future upgraded version have been submitted to the government. IIT Bombay is not in the knowledge of future plans."
