Microsoft has released an emergency update that fixes a critical vulnerability present in all supported releases of its Windows desktop operating system. "The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted document or visits an untrusted webpage that contains embedded OpenType fonts," the company said, adding that the update fixes the flaw by correcting how OpenType fonts are handled by the Windows Adobe Type Manager Library.
