Verizon rolling out Samsung Pay support to compatible phones

When Verizon announced last week that it'll support Samsung Pay, it said that the payments service will be made available to compatible smartphones on its network through a "future software update." The good news is that the update the carrier was talking about has started rolling out. What's worth mentioning here is that unlike devices on other carriers, Verizon phones won't have the Samsung Pay app installed automatically after the update, meaning users will have to install the app once it's available in the Play Store. If you aren't in the know, Verizon phones that'll be receiving the update include the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, Note5, and S6 edge+. As for the banks, only American Express, Bank of America, Citi Bank, U.S. Bank, and Synchrony Financial currently support the mobile payments service.
