Gionee has launched a new entry-level smartphone in India - the Gionee P5W. It is built around a 5" IPS display of 720p resolution, and its body is made of glossy plastic. The chipset in charge of the P5W is the MT6735 with a quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Mali-T720 GPU, and 1GB of RAM. The rest of the key specs include 16GB expandable storage, 4G LTE connectivity, a 5MP main snapper, and a 2MP selfie shooter. Finally, there is a removable 2,000 mAh battery that promises to power the thing for a day. The Gionee P5W runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo 3.1 launcher. The smartphone is now available for purchase in India for INR 6,499 or about $95. The competition in the entry-level class surely becomes more interesting by the day.
